RE: Tipping
I’m going to address this one more time and that is it. I have already stated that I tip double or more what most of the girls in my club tip. I don’t think the dj deserves to make more than the dancers, and yes, that’s an opinion. If we have 20 girls on shift (and we’ll have up to 30 some nights) and all of us give him $40 at the end of the night, he’s made $800 while we have made $360. No way is that fair.
I bust my ass to make what I make in a night. I’m there for 8-9 hours most of the time. The dj plays songs, he does very little other than that to “set the mood.” Some of them are lucky they get tipped at all because they suck. Just because they are doing their relatively simple job (in which they don’t break a sweat) doesn’t mean I should tip them a huge cut of my money.
I will continue to tip as I see fit. My club suggests the 10% and 5% thing, it is not a rule.
And I never said that bouncers are there for my safety or anything of the sort. My club doesn’t even have ONE bouncer. We have a few guys who man the door and parking lots, but they do not serve in a bouncer capacity. They are employees of the club and get paid by the club. I do tip them when they walk me to my car (which is almost ridiculous because they aren’t big, strong guys at all), but other than that, I’m going to let the club take care of them.
What everyone who is critical of the tipping procedure forgets is that without dancers NO ONE would make any mony. That is why we need to be treated with respect by the club and by anyone else who works there. The dj could be replaced with a juke box, I’ve seen it done. The bar staff, again, gets tipped by customers.
In the dancer community, this topic is the subject of much debate, but most of the opinions fall with mine. Tip well, but there’s no need to be ridiculous about the whole thing. And I’ll repeat, I am often thanked and told by the dj’s that I tip more than almost any other girl. IMO, that means they think I’m tipping appropriately.
And lastly, I don’t want to see this thread devolve into a debate about tipping and all of that other crap. If people want to argue about that, please make a Pit thread. Thank you.

i accept that as fair. it doesn’t work near to that where i am, but hey. to each their own. and i really am sorry for the tone in which i raised this. it was not appropriate, and came largely from a recent personal experience of the most infuriating kind.
but, i will still submit, in general, a tipout to barbacks, busboys, doorstaff, et al. should be well within the house regs, and if you have a problem with the house regs, you take it up the house, and not out on your backs or boys.
if there is anything that can run a club into the ground faster than a crew of pissed-off barbacks, i’d like to know.
i’ve seen a bunch of them come & go & come again… the door gives you something, the entertainment something else… but if you want a real club of any size, no matter the entertainment… you need a backstaff that trusts & respects you. or is too fucking inbred & retarded to know the difference. and up here, inbred don’t go far.
in fact, the top backs in this town make as much, sometimes more, than most tenders. really, find a club where tenders run shit, guaranteed you have multiple health-code violations just waiting to be caught.
find one of the handfull of clubs where the backs run the show - your night out will never be as tame again.
