Ask Yahoo! get's it wrong!

or at least incomplete.

In this article: “Has their ever been a Heisman Trophy winner who never played in the NFL?”, Yahoo neglects to mention a more recent Heisman player to not play in the NFL. Florida State QB Charlie Ward. He won the Heisman in '93 and then went to play in the NBA.
I’m pretty sure Im right about this. Can someone confirm?

From memory and from the sparse searches I’ve done so far, you appear to be absolutely correct.

Apparently, the NFL didn’t see much in him despite the Heisman, and he was never drafted.

And you got’s it wrong too! *(viz apostrophe, proper use of.)

I had to look it up to make sure my memory hadn’t played tricks on me, but you are correct. Charlie Ward never played in the NFL, he went straight to the NBA. I’ve been a huge Florida State fan for as long as I could remember, and in my opinion Charlie was the best QB that they have had. I always thought he could have played in the pros if he’d wanted to, but I guess he thought he’d do better playing basketball. It doesn’t matter though, he won FSU a national title. Here is a brief bio on him.

Jason White never played in the NFL either. He wasn’t even drafted - but signed as a free agent but gave it up due to his bad knees.

As a Husker fan, I don’t want to mention Eric Crouch, 2001 winner. He was drafted by an NFL team, and ended up quitting twice before the games were played.

He did play a stint in NFL Europe, but I wouldn’t count that.
