Asking for your thoughts and prayers for my brother.

Big Smile!
Congrats to your brother for sticking in there, and to the doctors for knowing what they’re doing.

I wish you people would just believe me when I tell you everything is going to be alright. (sigh) I feel like a reverse Cassandra.

Yo, David, finish getting better so Jenny can worry about the important things, like ME.

Best of luck, and best wishes.

David’s still being kept doped up (appropriate, no?), he’s got quite a bit of postoperative pain, which figures under the circumstances. He’s not real sure of what day it is and can’t tell us what happened to him, he’s seen his doctors a couple of times but the info’s not getting through the haze.

We missed his doctors both times they made rounds but hope to get more information in the next day or so. My mother found a really fabulous nurse that gave us info off his chart but the surgical notes haven’t made it in yet, so we dunno for sure what’s going on.

In any event, David’s going to have some real healing to do here. If we’re lucky, his pancreas will pick up and function like it’s supposed to and it’ll be like he was never injured at all. That’s the best case scenario and I don’t want to even think of anything else, especially right now.

My perpetual thanks to all of you that have been here with us through this really rough time and my gratitude for your positive energy and prayers is boundless.

I have to echo comments just made; I’m waiting with much anticipation for the day when I have more pressing concerns to take care of, like doing for Dopers on this site. The day that’s the biggest thing on my agenda will be a sweet one.

Thanks for the updates, Tuba. It’s good to see some positive news for a change.

hope the outcome is a great big positive one!

All my love and best wishes for your brother.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

O

Egad! I only just now caught this thread! Forgive me, TubaDiva. God go with you and with your brother always. I will stop now and pray for him, for you, and for your family.

Been wondering how your brother’s doing now that it’s been a few days. Hope he’s feeling better!

Jeg elsker dig, Thomas

Or at least what I hope is the last update 'cause he’ll be okay from now on.

David’s doing really really well, this surgery was the best thing they could have done for him. (His treatment has been very conservative and they were hoping the situation would resolve on its own but it didn’t, so this was the next step.)

He was able to eat real food for the first time in several months, his pancreas is beginning to function normally now. . . his health has taken a big upturn in just the last week.

They took the staples from the surgery out Friday. He’s out of the hospital now, recuperating with friends. He might be able to come home as early as the end of the month.

It’s such good news, all of it and I’m so grateful and thankful.

I appreciate each and every one of you that thought about him, prayed for him, wished us the best, I believe with all my heart that this is what made all the difference. I can’t thank you enough.

Way cool, Tuba.

It’s good to finally hear some good news. If you don’t mind, we’ll keep sending up the positive energy for a little while for good measure!

Keep us posted!

Chiming in after the excitement has all died down, I guess, but glad to hear everything worked out.

Don’t let David eat the potato chips!

Dear Tuba Diva, ain’t modern medicine grand?

Don’t ever sell this board short when it comes to compassion. The folks around here sure helped me when things looked grim of late and I’d like to think that all of us are here to help you in anyway we can.

I’ve put together your package. I’ll try to get it out this week sometime.

I’m glad to hear your brother is doing so well. I just came upon this thread today - I can only imagine how long the past couple of weeks must have been for you and your family.

Most excellent.

I’m so very glad to hear that David is recuperating!

My continued good thoughts to both of you, Jenny.

That’s fantastic! Glad to hear your brother’s doing well, Jenny.

Good to hear your brother is out of the woods Tuba, may he have a quick and painless recovery to full health.
