Assisted Living - Levels of Care Question

I am working on finding an assisted living facility for my parents. My question is regarding Levels of Care - what do you typically get for each Level of Care?

My mother is diagnosed with Alzheimers, probably Stage 4. Otherwise she can dress, toilet, and shower herself and has no other health issues. She is still allowed to drive.

Dad can use a walker on a limited basis, but mostly is in a wheelchair. He has diabetes. He has asthma, is on oxygen, and needs help with bathing. Not sure about dressing and toileting.

They would both need help with their meds. As it is today, I fill their pill boxes weekly and bought them the most obnoxious alarm (but it works! They take their meds to get it to shut up!).

I don’t know where this would put each of them on the Levels of Care scale, and when the range is, for example, $365-2160 a month, it’s very hard to do the numbers to see which facility they can afford.

I have asked one director I talked to to send me a brief description, but he didn’t do it. Am I wrong in thinking facilities don’t want to give this info out? I know they’re not making any commitments by describing the Levels of Care and no decisions will be made until they do an assessment. But my parents have limited funds. It’s a waste of everybody’s time to assume they are a Level 3 when they’re actually a Level 5, which could render a facility too expensive.

So, anyone out there work in the industry or have experience that could give me an idea of which Level they’d be at going in?
