Lets say you have an elderly person. I assume if there was a scale of how much caregiving it takes it would be something like this.

Able to live independently or with a spouse. Cost $0

Able to live independently, but needs a family member to assist. Cost $0 (except lost wages from the family member who is now a caregiver).

Lives independently, but needs in home care. Cost $20/hr (whatever it costs for someone to come and help).

Lives in assisted living. Cost $4000/month or so

Lives in a nursing home. Cost $10,000 a month or so.
Is there an official scale of levels of independence among seniors with disabilities, with rough prices? Are there other options?
