At a loss for where to get app help for an i-phone 6

Here’s a review from CNet of the 2020 iPhone SE. It does mention the downsides to the phone but it also says, “When you look at the complete picture, the iPhone SE represents the most value for your dollar of any phone Apple sells. It has an attractive price, fantastic battery life, great rear camera, A13 processor, water resistance and support for wireless charging. The SE is not only a wonderful iPhone, but one of the best budget phones you can currently buy.”

My wife, who is in tech, has an SE. I have an 8. Neither of them are lacking in any way to either of us, and neither of us are technophobes. I guess you could have a better camera (and, as a photographer, you’d think I’d care), and a bigger screen (I don’t want that), so if you’re coming from an iPhone 6, you’ll be more than fine with an SE. (My iPhone 8 replaced my old first generation SE – which was the same size as the iPhone 5 – and I left it kicking and screaming because I didn’t want a larger phone, but I’ve gotten used to it.)

@CC and @Johnny_L.A and anyone else em who’s interested … I find this iPhone comparison tool from Apple to be quite handy.

A) Not “crowing.” Observing. B) Avant is not altered in any way but is still getting updates from the carrier. Which the iPhone of the same vintage is not. Advantage Android because even if it stops getting updates it will still work, while the iPhone will be throttled into oblivion to force an upgrade. As has been done before, it’s a standard Apple move.

Nevermind. Used ZipperJJ’s link to answer my 6s vs 6 question. A9 vs A8 chip. We’ll see how much longer my A9 is good for.

My understanding is that it’s pretty different. I believe the 5SE and the 6S have similar capabilities but the 6 is different.

When we bought our Apple watches last year, my husband’s old 5 SE was fine but I had to upgrade my 6 to get it to work. Had I a 6S I think I’d have been ok.

Yes, Apple has been found to throttle phones. (They claim they did that to preserve battery life.)

The point is: the phone is only out of support since fall last year. The remarkable thing is that Apple was working on those phones in the first place. (And that there enough tech-savvy users to notice)

When was the last official update for your Android?
Are you really comfortable running your banking app on an OS you know virtually nothing about?
Why did you give it away? The other phone was used by the OP: you claim “yours” “works fine” — I really doubt that that is what the person using it would say. I’ll up the stakes further: I think they would consider the 6 a nice upgrade.

Moderator Note

The OP is seeking help with an iPhone. The Android vs iPhone debate is not helpful here. Please take that discussion to another thread.
