Cooked a big roast tonight. Had my sister and her family over. Ate too much. Tummy hurts. At least a week of exercise and watching my diet wasted. But beef good.
Was it corned beef
Prime rib.
Does not compute. Especially if it was prime rib.
Nah, beef is pure muscle food. BEEFCAKE!!
props to Cartman
Mmmm, I had some delicious corned beef and cabbage on St. Paddy’s Day. There’s no such thing as too much, as long as you pace consumption over 16 hours.
wink.
I made pot roast last night. With aromatic vegetables and mushrooms. Sides were asparagus and mashed potatoes and gravy. My husband complained because, as he said, he hurt himself. However, I expect that he will want the leftovers tomorrow. Since I have mashed potatoes and gravy left over, I might try making a cottage pie, never made one before. Or I could just make beef stroganoff.
I hope you had potatoes, Yorkshires and gravy with it, just to ensure maximum tummy hurtiness?
And finally, monsieur, a wafer-thin mint.
I did this last Christmas. I made a rare roast beef tenderloin and some exquisite sauce bearnaise to go with it. Sauce bearnaise is essentially egg yolks and butter cooked together with some seasoning.
I really overdid it and I was stupefied by beef for a couple of days afterwards. But God was it good. I might be ready for a repeat of this dinner by December 2012. Maybe.
You don’t want to overdo it. A good rule of thumb is never eat more than one cow in a single meal.
How much can one cow eat in a single meal? My Google-fu is weak.
At least you ate real food. Today I ate too much Dorito. I wish I could start today all over again.
Aaah, reminds me of this great German restaurant I haven’t been to in a while because when you go there you eat so much meat you get the meat sweats.
I went to a Brazilian steakhouse on Friday so I empathize with the OP.
it killed Red Barclay.
Why eat (much) more than you normally eat, just because it is a special occasion or it tastes good? I eat what I normally eat, maybe just a bit more, even on occasions like Thanksgiving; if there are leftovers, well, then I can eat those later.
Well, aren’t you a saint.
