There’s a strong chance that the lady (gooti) and I will show up. She has to take a class during the day and I will be on a Habitat for Humanity worksite for a good part of the day. Assuming we’re not exhausted (her mentally and me physically) we should make it out there. I’ll post more when we get closer to Saturday.
It’s a maybe because I haven’t decided yet if I’m driving to Knoxville to look for housing or not. And then…well, y’all know I’m one of the lame ones who never shows (and, yeah, I know ya don’t bite).
Tell ya what. I’ll decide by Friday if I’m heading north. If I don’t go, I’ll show. Hell, I’m moving anyway, so it’s my last chance.
I’m going to try and make it - but I’m also trying to get over sinus and ear infections (who knew adults could get ear infections?!?) so I’ll just play it by ear so to speak.
Okay, heres’a thing. Since the show closes on a Sunday, we’re having the wrap party for the show Saturday night after the show. We’re all B O O B and we’re going to do the time right there at the Center. Commencement time around 11 p.m., after we’ve finished the show, the TalkBack session and pre-setting for the Sunday show.
So…I can ditch the party for Manny’s, which seems a shame, or y’all can relocate to the Center and meet and hang with a bunch of people who are even cooler than I am.
mouthbreather, gooti, Lsura, spoke-, callie: are y’all coming to see my show, or do I need to kick your collective asses?
I’d love to, but as I have a wife and a mortgage, state law dictates that I am not hip enough to enter the perimeter (unless going to work or attending the mandatory annual Braves game).
What the heck – in the words of Ernie Banks, “let’s play two!”
We’ll meet at Manuel’s at 9:00, for those who might be planning on showing but were unwilling or unable to post to this thread with the board’s current speed. And at about 11:00, we’ll all jump in cabs/sober people’s cars, etc. and motor on over to the Center for Puppetry Arts and meet up with fiver.
How late is beer for sale in Atlanta? Ought we plan ahead here, or can we just pick up a case on the way?
Alcohol can be bought at least until midnight on Saturdays, and possibly later. It does cut off at some point, because there’s no Sunday alcohol sales in Atlanta.
You keep talking about cabs. You do understand that down here it’s not as simple as walking to the curb and sticking out a hand, right? You have to call and have them dispatched.
At best I can make a cameo. A friend is having a going-away party on Saturday. I’m not sure what time that starts, but if it’s a late start, I’ll swing by Manuel’s beforehand and hoist a couple.
Sales at grocery and convenience stores cut off at midnight, but bars and restaurants will serve to 3 AM, Sunday morning. Also, cabs will not be hard to find in the Poncey Highlands.
It should be easy enough for me to swing by Manuel’s on Saturday, but how will I know who’s who? I don’t know what anybody looks like and can only imagine the cionversation:
Beeblebrox: “Have you seen Manhatten?”
Patron: “Nope, never been to New York”
Beeblebrox: “Ermm…OK. Uh, Mouthbreather?”
Patron:" WHAT THE $%#%& DID YOU JUST CALL ME!"
Anyway, I fixed my e-mail yesterday so anybody who wants to reach me to tell me what to look for can use the button underneath this post.
