ATT webmail detail problem

I’ve accidentally changed some sort of setting in my email and am hoping someone here might know how to change it back. ATT has an autocomplete suggestion feature for the “To” box when composing an email – start typing an address, and it brings up possible contacts. I X-ed out one address, only to find later that what I did was labeled “permanently delete” it from the suggestion list. This contact no longer comes up when starting to type the address in, I have to type out the whole thing. I’d like to undo my mistake and get the address to come up in autocomplete like it used to.

ATT tech support apparently doesn’t know how to do this. They had me delete the contact and then re-enter it, but apparently the system recognizes the email address and still does not autocomplete it. I was escalated to a supervisor who said he’d call when he had the solution. That was Friday, and at this point I haven’t heard back and figure they’ve given up.

Anyone here happen to know how to rectify this?

Quick guess: If you actually send the contact an email, won’t that add it back to autocomplete?

If you log onto a different PC and/or different web browser does it still not work?

No, unfortunately.

Did not work with different browser. I could try later with a different PC.

How about deleting the contact entirely, then reentering as a new contact?

Already tried according to the OP.

Just had another thought… If you create a brand new contact does that work? That might help differentiate between there being something wrong with this one contact or just being unable to have the web client autocomplete any new contacts.

Heh, you are right. I read right past that part, refusing to mentally autocomplete.
