I agree with you that I don’t believe bbs2k is a troll. I’ve enjoyed his posts quite a bit. VC03, on the other hand, I feel tries to stir up trouble… not so much in a trolling sense, but in a way that skirts what a majority thinks should be perhaps worded more tactfully. Also, he doesn’t usually seem to take advice when others are only attempting to help his situation. Just so that he doesn’t encounter so much hostility and derision, to the point where no one takes him seriously or ignores any legitimate questions / observations he has.
As to Lobstermobster, to me, she’s simply abrasive. Sometimes though, that can cross a line or two in other forums and it’s, in my humble opinion, where she’s been given some negative moderator attention. Therefore, to my way of thinking, bbs2k was suspended so that he could re-evaluate things. VC03’s was warranted so that he’d hopefully take to heart the etiquette (which isn’t a bad thing in an online community) and rules here better than previously. And Lobstermobster hasn’t been subjected to much different than any of our other outspoken, blunt posters around the boards. Of course, that’s only my perception so I could very well be wrong. Just another take, tis all.
Oh, and you don’t have to worry about me saying anything to the PTB or anything. Typically I reserve my ire for what I deem really important on the injustice scale. Seeing as how we (politely) disagree, I’ll wait for the next opportunity to arise regarding dancing avatars that cover your entire screen. 
No links are necessary either, I completely believe you and recall the version of events as you’ve summarized them. I really appreciate you taking the time and care to do so.
For the last paragraph of your post, I think we’ve adequately covered both our positions. I don’t have any former military in my family (except for my recently deceased brother and he never discussed his service) and I believe if I did, that impostors wouldn’t bother me much, for the sheer mental problems undoubtedly involved for their reasons in doing so. Regardless, I can understand how others would and I respect their right to take umbrage with it. Obviously since there’s a website solely dedicated to such a thing, many are even (if I dare classify it that way) outraged. Perhaps others who’ve worked really hard to accomplish something, like the astronauts or brain surgeons you mention, feel fakes cheapens their honor and ethic. I don’t really know, but I can sympathize.
I mean, I wonder what it would be like to have someone lie about a heritage you (generally speaking) have? Or a faith you hold dear? Or just about anything that really has your heart all tied up in it. Being a person who has mental problems, I’ve often come across that on the Web and it’s painful, at the very least. I can’t completely explain why, but it saddens me for others in the same boat. My less than two cents.

Guin and I aren’t exactly what you’d call buds…but my only disagreement with her is that she spoke in half measures. This whole story stinks like an ass sandwich.

There was never a deciding consensus like the Kaitlyn fiasco. Some posters felt that gabriela’s stories were fantastical and they argued that she was making it all up. Others hotly defended gabriela and a few months later she quietly disappeared. Whether it was because she was a fake or tired of being accused of being a fake or for other reasons entirely is not clear. So feel free to browse the old threads and make your own decision. Personally, I lean toward that she was real but then I do not have very much medical knowledge so I have nothing to go on besides my gut and a desire to get in on another onboard autopsy thread.
Actually, after doing some searching, I wish to retract the hotly defending part. All the old threads I could find that were relevant were threads wherein gabriela had posted a story. Sometimes some posters would argue with her. I don’t know why some people think there is drama associated with her because I couldn’t find more than 2 posters who even had a problem with her stories. Sorry, I couldn’t be of more help.
Right after I posted that, I then saw the post which linked back to the speculation & it still appeared that the consensus was she was authentic. Sorry about the hijack.
