Attack of the Crazy Woman

I might have a clue what MPSIMS thread you’re referring to. Either there’s a bunch of people just playing along, or they need to be walloped with a clue-by-four.

Grr. I am going bananas with curiosity now. I don’t know how to enable my pm and I can’t get to my yahoo email account from work!! What is this thread of which percypercy and Jodi speaks?!

Go to User CP. Click on Edit Options. Scroll down to the part about private messages, and check the box that enables PMs.

ETA: Oh, yeh, remember to scroll all the way to the bottom to click on the save changes button. :smack:

If they wait sixty second, they could leave in a minute and a huff.

The Transsexual Teacher Trainwreck Thread: Ms. Kaitlyn’s first day in the classroom

I’d forgotten all about this.
If there were only someway to re-read these classic FUBAR’s whilst taking a long hot bath.

Amen. I do not know what the heck is going on over there, I saw it when it was only a few posts long and couldn’t help laughing at the lessons not learned. I guess everybody is in a rush to show they are not newb chasers and are acting all supportive. Still, wow.

(Darn it, now I will go and read the whole thing and I just know I will need a corkscrew to unroll my eyes back to normal)

er, print them out?

That thread doesn’t seem to contain the incident in which Kaitlyn was called out and confessed. At least, in the last page of the thread, she’s still talking as though her story is true.

Is the incident contained in a different thread?

I found this by looking for K6’s last post and working backwards.

Goodness, such sturm und drang. I started skimming this thread, and I had just about lost interest when my eyes perked up because my hometown of Manitowoc was mentioned. ‘What the heck, I’ll give my folks a call about this, they would get a kick out of this story what with the recent police fooforaw there’, I thought - which I did, and which they did. Then I thought - you know, there is a lot of information here if you want to prove justanoldvet’s story: a date (Wed, Dec 8 2007), a location (Manitowoc, WI), and a name (Debby/Deb/Deborah). In for a penny, in for a pound - so I called the Manitowoc Police Dept, who denied any arrest of a Deb/Debby/Debbie on Dec 8, and the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Dept, who also denied any arrest of a Deb/Debby/Debbie on Dec 8. Now, it may be that my assumptions about the date or spelling or whatnot are off, but I’m not going to call them back and ask them to expand their search parameters for my entertainment alone.

It seems that if you’re so emotionally invested in whether they guy’s story was true or not, it would have been easier to just check it out rather than to go back and forth about it for so many pages. In other words, cite ?

It was the Wednesday before December 8.

Thanks.

(Who the heck is K6 and how was one to know his/her last post would be a thing to look for?)

-FrL-

K6 is Kaitlin in that thread who previously posted as Number 6.

Aw hell. I knew about the Wednesday part, I knew that it was the fifth, not the eighth, and I’m all but certain that I asked about the 5th when I called. But the fact that I made the typo in the post makes me question what date I gave them.

Oh, well. Easy enough for some other person to confirm or refute. If you call today, you can say that you’re looking for the same Deb that the other guy was calling about, but maybe on a different day. Give the nice records ladies a little mystery to chat about for the next few days.

Please don’t do this. We strongly discourage people from playing Internet Detective to ferret out other poster’s real life identities, no matter how unlikely their story.

He said in the OP that she wasn’t arrested.

This sounds kind of like she was.

I reread the OP last night, so I may be misremembering, but I could swear that she WAS arrested once she threatened police officers with two metal baseball bats.

And, speaking now as a poster, I think both sides are going a little nuts over this. It’s an anonymous message board. We’ll rarely if ever know for sure that people here are who they say they are, and there’s no shame in taking someone at their word. At the same time, the Internet is full of self-proclaimed Navy SEALs and CIA agents – anyone claiming extraordinary credentials should expect skepticism. Such is the problem of anonymity – real-life actions don’t carry much weight so respect has to be slowly earned by what you say and how you say it.

I’m sorry for forgetting to get your stamp of approval before submitting my post. I never said that I was suspicious of him. I didn’t pay much attention to his stories because I personally didn’t find them all that interesting. (I may very well be the only one. I can accept that. That does mean however that saying,“Look at the interesting poster who’s left because of all this crap.” does very little to sway me.) My point and it was not as well articulated as I would have liked is that there are many posters here who have received rude and nasty email, who have been the targets of other posters, and have been accused of trolling, lying, etc. and are still here. He is not and I suspect that if it hadn’t been because of this thread it would have been something else. I don’t know and I don’t care if he’s a seal or not. But if he’s going to let a momentary setback like this decide his participation level then at the very least he’s not that interested in posting here, so why should I care if he does or not?
