I know, I know, you all may be getting tired of out-of-towners asking to meet up, but Mrs. Home and I would be interested in pubbing together on Sept. 30 or October1. We’ll be staying in Willesden Green or Queen’s Park (we won’t know until we arrive which location accomodation.london.net will slot us into) but could presumably take the tube to a convenient spot for a rendezvous.
Full disclosure here: This will be my first trip outside the US & Canada, but Mrs. Home lived in England off and on for about three years back in the 1970s. We are both mid-fifties. She is a PhD in System Science/Psychology who works in research and is a fan of classical music and a hunter/jumper and dressage rider. I am a newspaper editor and disc jockey who is a fan of science fiction, numismatics, Aussie Rules football and animation.
We would enjoy meeting with interested parties, to sample the famed English brews, exchange tall tales, promote transAtlantic camaraderie and buy our fair share of suds. We are arriving in London on Sept. 23, but will probably be too jet-lagged to get together that weekend. We could also do midweek get-togethers, but that’s hard for folks who are working the next day.
What say you? Got room at the table for a few congenial Americans?
