Attractive authors?

Yeah, but… she crazy.

My vote is for Michael Ondaatje. Hott.

My bookclub did a literary crushes series. Michael Chabon and Neil Gaiman and Salman Rushdie (Rushdie is mine, but the crush isn’t based on innate hotness - which is where Gaiman and Chabon were coming from - I believe).

Harlan Ellison, in his mid-40s when this was taken around 1978 or '79, was quite dashing. Looks much the same now, though white-haired and 30 pounds heavier.

And I will verify, having seen their homepages, etc., that two of our resident authors, CalMeacham and Reality Chuck are attractive, distinguished men.

Sir Rhosis

Harlan Ellison can never be physically attractive enough to overcome the first hand accounts of his assholishness.

Ethan Canin
Paul Auster
Sebastian Junger (worth showing twice in this thread)

As of last August’s WorldCon, I can vouch for the disgusting display (or should I say decay) of His AssHoliness.

Be careful of typing his name in vain. I understand he’ll sue you if you use his name without a trademark symbol.

What!!!

Are you sure you mean me? I’m the one on the left.

^^^See, the thing is, Chuck, having read many Frank Herbert novels as a youngster, adorned with dustjacket photos, I came away convinced that all SF authors should be bearded (Ellison, aside). You and Cal Meacham fit the bill.

But, ya know, you’re right, Larry Fine really is far more attractive than you.
