August Londope -- plan now, and avoid the rush

Hee!

So are we going to witness the wit in person, Shade?

The same wit, or do you want something new and spontaneous?

Seriously, it’d be good, but I need to check my diary. I only just noticed this thread.

It shouldn’t be too difficult - I will be in London. :slight_smile:

16. Garius

And hell Tir why aren’t you insisting he take you to the concert??

And only ten minutes away, to boot… :wink:

Monitary constraints prevent us from being in the same country at that weekend, so I won’t be at the Londope, and Tir won’t be in Slane.

Plus Garius I can’t cope with crowds that big, I’d freak out.

Besides, we’d only glurge you lot out anyways! :wink:

  1. qts

How will we recognise each other?

With any luck…

18: ObiWan

(who, despite the lack of activity on the SDMB lately, is still alive :))

WEll, you never know. :wink:

If I can slip away, I will try and come along fow a little while. Hey, you might get to see me in a salwar kameez… That’ll scare you all. :smiley:

as long as it’s sufficient to cover your modesty this time!

qts - oh, don’t worry, you’ll know us when you see us!

It consists of trousers, a short tunic and a scarf. Quite frankly, I could if I wanted to, wear it so that you saw my face, hands, and nothing else. :smiley:

19: SciFiSam, probably with my brother or another friend or two.

Anahita my dear, if by shopping you mean shoes and frocks and such, you can shop away on Friday, I might be able to stand it for about ten nanoseconds but after that, I am afraid I shall have to abandon you and go off in pursuit of other things - quite what other things I don’t know, but London is a big city, so I am sure I can find something to go and see. I quite fancy a go on the London Eye.
Do you have to book and does anyone fancy it?

So, not only a cunning bump, a bump with a REAL enquiry in it!!

Number 13 checking in here. Don’t know yet if I or my other half can make it. Don’t rule us in or out at the moment.

Re: the open air theatre. If the weather’s nice it’s lovely - they sell food and wine outside (but not cheaply) and it’s an excellent venue.

London eye - booking is advised at busy times, of which August is almost certainly one. You can book on the web at www.londoneye.com
I like the Eye, but I shall probably be shopping with Anahita on Friday!

Tansu
Thanks for the info, I shall do that now and see you after the shops!

They won’t let me have the Friday off work! Bastards! So I’ll have to come down and meet you on the Friday evening.

<historian hat on>

the British museum has a big “250 years of” thing going on - could be interesting.

</historian hat off>

No…? Nobody…? Okay i’ll shut up now.

Seen it. Lots of prints and maps, which will take you about 30-45 minutes at most to see. If you’re into 18th-century London (as, indeed, I am), you’ll like it.

If there’s a group interest, I could be persuaded to see it again, of course. Given the current state of my finances, “free” is a major factor in my joining in any pre-pub activities.
