pld mate, did you receive my email last week? I still haven’t heard from you, and I’m starting to get Sydney dopers fretting (a most undignified sight, let me assure you) about our mini Dopefest on Sunday the 18th.

4pm, Wharf 6, Circular Quay. Look for a very big, dopey guy with a beard wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and horrible old workboots. That’ll be my good self. Woolly, on the other hand will be his usual dashing vision of Adonis. Just look for the screaming teenaged girls and you’ll find us.

Sorry about not responding to your e-mail, TLD–I am bad about that! We’re definitely still on for Sunday. My hotel appears from my glance at Sydney street maps to be quite close to Circular Quay (it’s the Pier One Parkroyal on Hickson St.), so I shouldn’t have trouble finding it. I’ll look for you–I’ll be the guy with the funny accent who looks like he hasn’t slept. 
I may bring a travel companion or two with me as well, since they’ll be in the country for the first time also, and it’s always nice to warp a fresh mind with a little SD action.
Redboss, can you e-mail me your mobile number? We’re still on for Friday as well, and I’ll get in touch with you when I’m in town to coordinate.

Sorry I won’t see you folks, particularly pld*. Something on the Board reminded me that you are a vegie pld. I don’t know about your Melbourne timetable, but if you’re looking for a fine vegetarian place in Melbourne may I recommend Shakahari in Carlton for brilliant, eclectic, Nonya-based food. At its previous location it was where my wife and I went on our first dinner date.
Have a good time, and don’t play with the wildlife.

It was very great to finally meet some more Dopers. pldennison is a great guy. Others weren’t bad buggers either (but they’re Aussies so they don’t count). Now we’re turning the poor bugger loose on the Victorian Dopers. Redboss, you’ll be pleased to learn it was mildly crappy weather in Tinsel Town, so you’ll probably turn on a perfect day for your gallery tour!

We’ll be gathering in sections.
part one: 4.00pm at Degraves Espresso in Degraves Street city. Henry Spencer and Redboss and whoever else can make it.
part two: 7.00pm at Chloe, Young and Jackson’s. She’s upstairs, in case you didn’t know.
We might eat there, or if it’s too crowded and the weather is kind, we’ll jump a tram to Brunswick Street.
I’ll leave a message for you at your hotel pld with phoner numbers and ever’thang.
