76 fucking cents?!#$!??
Two months away from home.
Collection agency and 80 Euro down the drain ensues.
May the butt molesting bot fly infected gangrene giver of love have mercy on your souls. Fornicate!
Here I am away from home, forgot to tell the bank that a certain bill has increased by 38 cents, and after two months you don’t send me a reminder, call me? No – off to the collection agency with their puss oozing flesh eating urine inhibited male-cow excrement descendants of female dogs (yeah – and fuck the commas as well) pieces of sorry excuses for intelligent life form. You got my details don’t ya? I guess sending me a letter, or perhaps even (GASP!) giving me a call is to much trouble? So here I am stuck with a stupid bill of 80 Euro – thank you very fucking much.
Fuck – somebody bring me a cold beer.
Sphincters.
This was an awesome rant!
Brings Jim a cold beer
takes a long hard drink of delicious cold beer
brrrrp
Thank you. Humanity rocks!
Damn, that’s horrible. No billing department I’ve ever worked for would have just let that be – even if a not-even-one-dollar difference somehow got to collections, we never would have let it stay there. We would have called and emailed every week before turning a dollar into eighty (or a Euro, if we’d been across the pond).
You say you were away from home, though – is it possible they did try to call? Did you try calling the company itself and request to handle the disputed amount with them rather than the bastards at the collection agency?
I switched trash collection companies in March. The old one sent me a final $37 bill and I paid it on-line 2 days later.
Apparently it had accrued interest in those 2 days since I just got another bill in the mail (3 months later) from them for 2 cents. Yep, 2 cents.
Promtly paid that on-line and I have my fingers crossed I don’t cent a one-center.
That aint nuthin!
I once received a bill for 0 dollars and 0 cents! It was from the University I was attending.
I ignored it.
I received another one.
I ignored it.
I received it yet again…certified…with a threatening letter saying I would be expelled unless I paid.
I wrote a check for 0 dollars and 0 cents and dropped it in the campus mail.
Next semester there was a big hubbub because 300+ students were expelled. You see, no human looked at it…the billing and expulsion were done by computer…all automated. It caused all sorts of problems.
Glad I paid!

See? That’s the stupidity I have come to embrace with a suit studded with rusty rabid nails.
This sort of thing just pisses me off.
My respect for you for writing a check for 0 dollars and 0 cents is stratosphere busting, here is a cold beer - enjoy it.
Little Plastic Jinja,
I have no land-line unfortunately, but they sure as hell have my mobile (cell).
These people are voluntary sphincters in the highest category (yes - as opposed to involuntary sphincters - google it).
Oh - and since this is the pit: procreate!
I would have shown up in person at the office and told them I wanted to pay my bill in cash. And then I would have asked for a receipt for my $0.00.
Small claims court is your friend. I don’t know what the rules are like elsewhere, but here in Kanada the defendent has just 20 days upon receipt of the claim to file a defence. If they do not, they lose automatically in default. Since it takes more than 20 days for most large companies to order new post-it notes, organizing a legal defence in that span is a Herculean effort. Nine times out of ten, the company will give you a call within hours of receiving the notice that you are suing them and bend over backwards to give you whatever you want – because the retainer alone will cost them five grand, even before they hit court. Also, in Kanada, there is a fee waver for anyone with a low income, so if you’re poor it costs absolutely nothing to file. The maximum claim is going up in Kanada from $10k to $25k in a few months too.
Is this Kanada you are talking about the same Canada I heard of in high school? And if so - why the heck do you spell it that way?
Maybe they kan’t spell, or it kould be they’re just a jakkass.
Was the 80 euro charged by the company or the collection agency?
