Automatic Default To GQ?

Earlier this evening I tried to post into Cafe Society, not realizing I was not on the MB. I wrote my post, but when I clicked SUBMIT NEW THREAD, I was asked to log in again.

Okay. I did, thinking that my post was still in Cafe Society.

It was not. It had gotten moved to General Questions, and that is where my post wound up, and I had to ask for it to be moved.

Is this a common occurence?

This could be either user error, or the capriciousness of the SDMB server. I would be inclined to the former since no one else has reported this kind of error.
