There is always a reason.
And a creepy version of the song “I’ve got not strings to hold me down” is used through much of the trailer - hey, if you’re gonna make a commercial/brand connection, it doesn’t get much better than Ultron as Bad Pinocchio.
Yeah, it can’t really be that simple as literally everyone has been an Avenger at some point. That argument would allow the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and most of the mutants (including Wolverine) to be in the Avengers movies.
Basically, they had a chat and came to an agreement.
HULK.
BUSTER.
That’s all I got. I’m sorry, that Armor is just hype as shit.
If there’s something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call?
Have they introduced Pym yet? I understand a movie is planned, but I have trouble keeping track of all the characters.
Nope. The movie Ultron will be one of Tony Stark’s creations instead. Pym will get introduced with the “Antman” movie.
I don’t know how true this is and I have no cite in front of me, but I’ve heard rumors that the plan is to launch Hulk into space at the end of this to get a Planet Hulk movie and to tie in the Guardians of the Galaxy. If that’s true, then I may as well just go to New York and start handing Marvel my money right now.
The rumors are, at this point, just wishful thinking on the part of fandom. There have been, to my knowledge, zero leaks indicating that arc from Marvel or Disney.
Would be cool, though.
I’ve seen on nerdist that Avengers 4 will be the Civil War storyline and that Marvell and Sony are in negotiations right now
excuse me Disney and Sony
Marvel is getting complicated if all the rumors are true. They would have to deal with:
Thanos
Civil War
Planet Hulk
plus all the individual movie fall-out stuff, like Bucky, Loki, the “Gifted,” etc., while also folding in Dr. Strange, Antman, Black Panther, Black Widow/Hawkeye,…
Somehow, they plan to make it all work, while trying to get Spiderman and the rest back under the Marvel/Disney umbrella.
Actually that’s for Captain America 3, and even then it’s just a rumour based on the released fact Iron Man will be in it. i.e. there isn’t a plan for an Iron Man 4, but he is returning for Cap3. Civil War is not even close to being confirmed.
I imagine it going like this…
FOX Lawyers: And of course, FOX will have exclusive rights to Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch.
MARVEL: We can’t do that. They’re too important to both the X-Men & Avengers. SAY! Why doesn’t FOX purchase the rights to make an Avengers movie too? It would be AWESOME!
(FOX lawyers in huddle) Who are they kidding? We’ll see a fucking raccoon with a machine gun before an Avengers movie with these characters.
FOX Lawyers: <giggle>We’ll pass.<giggle>
Well said, and I agree. Really looking forward to this.
Was that Captain America’s shield broken in half at 1:53? Because that’s not supposed to be able to happen.
Unless you count the give or six times it’s happened in the comics.
(The shield got better.)
It’s an image that gives everybody an idea just how bad-ass Ultron is, since the destruction is usually the result of cosmic-level forces.
It’s been a long time since my avengers comic reading days but wasn’t Ultron created by Hank Pym? So why would they insert the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver BEFORE the Wasp and Antman/Yellowjacket? Or are they in this one too?
YES, I’m an ultra-nerdy comic purist.
MCU has only a tangental relationship to the 616 Universe. Because they hadn’t gotten Antman introduced yet, Ultron becomes a Stark creation. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are introduced now because the person who wrote and directed Avengers 2 wanted them there.
The MCU uses elements of the various Marvel universes, but it is its own separate creation, with its own continuity.
