Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer leaks

I’ve noticed that a lot over the last decade or so.

Between the above, the chance that Scarlet Witch is messing with people’s heads, and the even more likely chance that Joss is fucking with us, I’d take nothing in the trailers as gospel.

An example that comes to mind is that the Guardians of the Galaxy trailers showed a lot more of Zoe Saldana being sexy than was actually in the movie. Though I’m not sure how much of that was made specifically for the trailers, vs. how much was intended to be in the movie but then cut before release.

The Iron Man 3 trailer actually pulled a switcheroo on this. Tony’s voiceover said “I don’t sleep. And when I do, I have nightmares”, then the trailer shows an Iron Man suit violently pulling Pepper out of bed with Tony sleeping next to her. The obvious interpretation was that it was a nightmare, some subconscious worry of Tony’s that being Iron Man would hurt Pepper yet again. But as it turns out, the scene actually happens in the awake reality of the movie - an empty suit really drags Pepper out of bed.

I get chills every time James Spader talks.

He is going to be phenomenal in this movie

Yes! That’s the most current one I was thinking about! Not only Gamora, but some of the early teasers showed the scene were John C. Reilly’s character scanning the 5 into the prison, and he ends it with “…they call themselves ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy’”, which makes no sense as they weren’t even a team at the time. It worked as a great teaser introduction to these 5 B-list characters of Marvel, but was completely a fake scene for the purposes of a trailer

Glenn Close also said something like, “you’re telling me the lives of (something) billion people are the hands of these (whatever).” I don’t recall that being in the movie.

OK, yeah, that’s a better example, since that’s definitely a scene that was made just for the trailers. For some reason, though, my mind jumps more easily to sexy Zoe Saldana. Huh, go figure.

It can work the other way, too. Wasn’t there some POV arrow shot in the Costner Robin Hood movie trailer that people went gaga over? It wasn’t in the movie, and was shot just for the trailer, but once the public locked on to it, the filmmakers quickly added it to the actual movie.

They also added Drax to that scene in the trailer, even though in the movie he was already in the Kyln long before the other four were arrested.
