AVG 6.0 Inquiries

Hello. I have a copy of the free edition of AVG 6.0 for my computer. The main problem is, my CD-Rom drive temporarily didn’t work, and it’s probably due to viruses. The Residence Shield keeps detecting Dropper.inor viruses, and when I run the Complete Test on AVG, the System states no viruses were detected. I tried adjusting the system’s configuration settings, but to no avail. Is there a way to remove the Dropper.Inor viruses manually? There’s a message window that pops up that says System updates are more than 14 days old. Does the program need to be updated or replaced? Can I download the updates or a new version of the program and save it/them to disk? The secondary problem is that I don’t have home internet access. What should I do, because I need to use my CD-Rom drive?

By default, AVG wants to check to see if it should get an updated version of itself every 14 days. Your version doesn’t know if it will be able to detect any new viruses with it; it doesn’t even know about the virus you think is there.

I don’t know if AVG detects the Dropper.inor virus, but you can search their site.

Also, I’d google on dropper.inor to see if there’s a manual way to remove it.

I just went through this with a blaster worm - I know what a pain it is.

At times when I’ve been concerned about security it’s been able to find and remove things that AVG didn’t pick up on.
