Estilicon, [giggle] some days I feel young and some days I feel old, but I don’t tell folks what my age is. I will say that I’m amused when I hear my students say to each other or to me that I sound just like their mamas. But no, I didn’t know that Hispanic/Latino/Spanish teenagers and twenty-year-olds generally use offensive words to greet each other. I know that among certain populations in America this may occur. Unfortunately my mother raised me to be a lady [sigh] so I don’t engage in such practices.
LOL!!! Why are you shocked, hon? I’m curious to learn the kind of Spanish that my teachers wouldn’t dare teach me in school. :innocent eyes: Why should that be so bad? If you do happen to remember any more groserias, please don’t hesitate to drop me an email, or if you just want to write me in Spanish, I just love getting email. 
As far as varieties of Spanish go, I don’t know enough about the differences between Chilean, Mexican, Columbian, Puerto Rican, Castillian, and so forth to have a preference. Gosh, I wish I could afford to travel more.
