B5 - a dangerous job

Today, Andreas Katsulas died.

About a year and a half ago Richard Biggs died.

That’s two of the main nine or so characters from Babylon5.

Much-beloved Tim Choate, one of B5’s most entertaining guest actors died less than a year and a half ago.

Is it time to start wondering about a curse?

Maybe God’s got a hankering for a new science fiction show on Heaven’s cable system?

Don’t forget Zathras. He died in a motorcycle a while back, if I recall correctly.

:frowning:

:smack:

…in a motorcycle accident

Tim Choate (mentioned in the OP).

Or did you mean Zathras?

*“No, that was not Zathras, that was Zathras. There are 10 of us, all of family Zathras, each one named Zathras. Slight differences in how you pronounce. Zathraas, Zathras, Zathras… You are seeing now?”
“There are ten of you?”
“Yes! Well, nine now.” *

Zathras and Ivanova, *Conflicts of Interest *

Holy crap, what’d he die of?

I think it was an brain aneurysm.

He died of an aortic dissection, the same thing that killed John Ritter.

Andreas was either 60 or close to it, Chaote was 52 or close to it. Death in the late 50’s or early 60’s isn’t all that odd.

The Zathras guy was killed in an MVA, and Biggs did indeed have an Aortic Dissection.

Soooooooo, only one of the three deaths is all that unusual: Biggs, due to rarity of the heart defect.

Given the relative seasoning of the B5 cast (all were pretty much at least 40, some were notably older), one would expect a few deaths by now.

Now, three or more deaths among the Saved by the Bell cast … that would be unusual.

Well after what happened B1-B4…

Katsulas died? Shit. :frowning:

Though more appreciated…

And Jerry Doyle has become a right-wing radio talk show host… :frowning:

Hey, you copy Deep Space Nine, you pay the price.

I kid!

“I will confess that I look forward to the day when we have cleansed the Universe of the fans of DS9 and carved their bones into little flutes for Narn children. It is a dream I have.”

G’Kar, paraphrased.

Is he more of a Rush Limbaugh, or more of just a host who facilitates other guests to talk about right-wing issues? Cause if it’s the latter, can you realyl blame him? Work is work. But if it’s mroe the former, then yeah, I see your point.

(And I don’t see Jeff Connaway lasting too many more years if he keeps up the drug habit he seems to have.)

You mean he has more in common with this guy than appearance? (If so, he’s probably indestructible.)

Right-wing radio hosts, drug habits? Jeez, you guys are really bumming me out.

I just watched the final episode of B5 last night on DVD, and it was even more depressing after having read this thread.

Jerry Doyle also ran for Congress in 2000.

He lost.

Pretty badly, only getting 25% of the vote. But the California 24th is a pretty safe Democratic district. He didn’t really have a chance.
