Is it really corn or some hybrid of corn? If not, then what is it and why is it called baby corn? It sort of tastes a little like corn, but then again not really.
it’s just immature corn cobs, picked before they have even been pollinated; often it’s a special variety that produces more cobs, (which wouldn’t be much good left to maturity, but harvested as baby corn, there’s no problem)
In fact, technically, when you are eating baby corn, you’re eating the flowers, not the fruit (which is the mature seeds in the cob)
