I received a very cool Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, Chatanooga postcard from Lsura. Also another postcard from Lsaura from the Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park, which shows the building where Lsura works. The fountain in the picture looks like a lot of fun on a hot day! I was just thinking about the Atlanta Centennial Olympics yesterday - quite a coincidence!
Yes, Lsura is definitely on the ball. I received one from her showing planes in the National Air and Space Museum. As a former private pilot, I like it a lot. I’d love to fly the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk that’s pictured. Beautiful plane. Thanks, Lsura!
I got a Big Foot card from Grrlbrarian today. She said that if I see him, I should get some good video and then run like hell. Based on the picture on the postcard, I think I dated him, or maybe a cousin. Thanks, Grrlbrarian!
The domestic cards are mailed, but I need to buy stamps for the international cards. There isn’t enough room for me to put too many stamps on the card, so I will get something that fits. I did use some old stamps on some of the cards I mailed. It’s been a long time since I had to lick stamps!
They’re all similar cards, though, but I liked them.
I got two cards from Lsura today!
One shows downtown Atlanta at night, and the other urges me to have a R.C. Cola and a moon pie. Although Lsura herself doesn’t recommend them.
I recommend s’mores over MoonPie’s any day. Same basic ingredients. Those were FAST getting to you. I’m impressed with the postal systems of two countries!
When I got back from a trip to Amsterdam Wednesday evening, two postcards were waving from me in my mailbox: A bright green moray Eel from dbygawdcapn and a postcard showing the German town of Attendorn from EinsteinsHund.Yesterday, two sibirian tigers arrived from Teuton. Thank you all for the cards!. My first batch of cards should arrive at their destination any day now, and a second stack went out today. Don’t be disappointed if they do not show the Swiss Alps - I have this box full of postcards that I picked up during my travelling years with the intention of sending them to my friends and relatives back home, but never sent - some of them are over 30 years old, almost vintage. Now I am putting them to good use while remembering the places where I bought the cards.
Anaglyph, I got your postcard yesterday of a momma grizzly(?) and her two cubs on a wildflower-covered mountainside in Mt. Rainier National Park. Thanks!
I’ve been to Mt. Rainier a couple of times, and the postcard reminds me of a weird encounter with a grizzly and her cub right after sunset on Going To The Sun Road. It involved the driver of our vehicle turning off the engine and driving on the wrong side of the road and ominous thrashing sounds in the bushes just meters away. Fun times!
Got home yesterday to find not one, but FOUR postcards waiting for me! Yay!
First up was a gorgeous postie from Acadia National Park from Atomic Mama. Even if your leaves haven’t changed yet, you’ve got some beautiful vistas not far away! Always wanted to visit Maine and now I want to more than ever.
The next three were from silenus! I appreciate the heads-up on Yucaipa; I’d never heard of it until I started sending mugs and postcards there. Love the Route 66 trivia card and the sand dollar legend card, too!
