UK (Bristol) for a work conference, then extended the trip for another 10 days to see London and visit wife’s sister and nephew in Brussels. Had a great time. I brought a bunch of Belgian chocolates but they seem to have been replaced with several empty foil wrappers.
While you were gone, there was a thread about tourists getting nekkid on a mountain in Asia and getting arrested for it. Someone said they were going to try for a naked selfie next to the guard in Buckingham Square.

What did you think of Belgium?
In Bruges is one of my favourite films and so that’s near the top of my list of places to visit, before someone bombs the entire place.

Enjoyed Belgium. We didn’t go to Bruges this time, but 2 years ago we spent a day there – it was nice, but I actually enjoyed the streets and architecture (and waffles, pastries, and chocolates!) of the old city square (the Grand Place) more than Bruges.
So glad your back. The board was not the same without you. The fight against ignornance seemed to wane slighty…I was worried.

Yep, that was me. We stayed in Marylebone and had a great time. We took one of those big tour buses and it was much fun – free cruise down the Thames, stopped by and saw most of the sights, spending the most time at the Tower of London, around Westminster, and in Hyde and Regents Park. We ate meat pies, pasties, and fish and chips, and drank beer/ale and cider. It was very nice.

Glad you had a good time. I’m hoping to do the New Forest & Jurassic Coast next year, which will involve at least a day in London too. I’ll be sure to dig up that thread again closer to the time.
