Back Issues of Major Newspapers?

I was hoping to get actual copies of newspapers for personally special dates. All of these dates are within 1-3 years.

Anyone know how I might go about obtaining these, say for the New York Times?

Thanks!

Easy. Call the New York Times, and ask to be put through to their library.

All newspapers have a library of back issues. You can usually get a reprint of articles and photos for a fee. I don’t know about getting the whole paper, but if you’ve got the money, they could probably accommodate you.

Note that you probably won’t get the original printed-on-newsprint copy. In the interests of saving space, newspapers kept their back copies on microfilm or microfiche, although I would imagine that today, digital storage is the norm. You’ll still get what you want, but it won’t be the original newsprint from the original date.

Great, thanks!
