I’m so annoyed with myself.
I feel back asleep and didn’t wake up until 3:30. I wasted half the day and I do have things to so.
I figured out why I sometimes small cigarette smoke. The neighbor goes out on her porch to smoke. You’d think she was far enough away but my fan must be sucking the smoke right in. The cord isn’t long enough to move it to the next window but I have an extension cord around here somewhere. For now we just flipped the fan around.
I finally got a couple of nibbles on my resume. The first one I’m 99% sure I blew the interview, mainly because the HR chick didn’t say anything like “do you have time for a brief phone interview?” and just launched in leaving me floundering until I realized what she was doing. It didn’t help that I was flat-out exhausted that day.
The other one I may or may not have an interview scheduled–I don’t know because the HR dude never emailed me back a confirmation. It’s on Tuesday but I’m not sure if I want to do it because the little warning voice in my head is chirping the more I poke into the company’s website. I’m thinking about not even pursuing this one further.
On top of all this the dark cloud has decided it wants to descend on me and I’m trying to fight off a depressive episode. All I want to do is go to bed and hide, but I have to irk tomorrow since Miss Q is on a mystery anniversary trip.
Life sucks and isn’t fair. And I want my pizza now, not in twenty more minutes.
**FCD **went out to get new handle grips for his bike, then he and a bunch of guys who were hanging out there went to lunch together. 4 hours later, he got home… Meanwhile, I did the dishes and the laundry, and did a bunch of crocheting. So a productive afternoon.
He’s not going to want supper - I need to decide what I want. Unfortunately, there were 2 more casualties of the fridge death - my provolone and swiss turned green. ick. I have no idea what I want for supper.
Yep, another exciting Saturday. Oh, and I talked to my daughter. She’s spending her birthday at Disney - she was in Germany when I called.
The good thing about an afternoon soiree is when afternoon is over guests go away. Now ‘tis all peace and quiet at da cave. I’ve had a shower and OYKW is havin’ a soak in the tub. Life is good.
{{{BigKitty}}} you will get through this. I know how it is when you feel a depressive episode comin’ on. Do whatever it is you need to do to fight it off as best you can even if it means goin’ to bed and hidin’ under the covers the rest of today. I’ve been known to do that. Watch stoopid youtube videos. Watch a bunch of those school films. Those tend to make me feel better cause they make me want to laugh. Grab a notebook and write what you’re feelin’. Don’t worry about the interviews. Hey, you got some nibbles. This means more are on the way! At any rate, I hope you’re feelin’ better soonest.
Clearly with all the crap they are getting, the students today don’t have $$$ issues. (You could maybe be shocked at how high our volume went to all the college pallets once classes started again. Pitt, UVW, CMU, Rochester NY, State College -------- all are money in the bank and job security for me.
I thought about going to Frostburg but a friend talked me out of it. She went there and said it was really snotty, not a place where I’d fit in too well. Back then I would have been intimidated by it, now … I’ve gotten better at putting snots in their place.
Amazing how city life can change a person.
**doggio **- what did your eggs cost? I was in the grocery section of WalMart the other day and their large white eggs were something like $3.58/doz! Yoiks!! Last time I checked in Food Lion, they were about $2.39.
Last night, I made the executive decision to not take NyQuil and my sleep was no different, and I still woke in the middle of the night to cough my lungs out. Actually, it was weirder than that. It was more like <KOFF-KOFF>, then nothing, but just as I was about to drop off again: <KOFF-KOFF>!! That went on for over an hour. I’m so sick of being sick…
Today, we’re going to a car and motorcycle show in St. Inigoes, MD. According to someone we met at the bike show last week, it’s a black church. I’m not sure why that’s an issue, especially since it’s a Catholic church, so I know full well no one will be there trying to save us. Anyway, the show starts at 9, the judging at 2:30, so we’re shooting to get there around noon or so. Since it is Sunday, we figure the attendance will be thin till after church hours. Plus the church is having its Labor Day Festival starting at 12:30, and they’re serving crab cakes - I’m thinking we won’t be making supper tonight!
That’s pretty much the plans for today. Except that I’ll be watering the seeded sections of the yard for a bit this morning. So all in all, a Sunday of chillage.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 for the day and sunny. Should be a really nice day. Therefore, we have made the executive decision not to deheathenate this mornin’. Instead we plan a day of quality cee-mint pond time. Sometimes ya just gotta and this is a just gotta time.
I shall continue to caffeinate and also feed rumbly tummy. Who knows, I may even go back to bed for a bit. A day for sloth and laziness ensues.
**doggio **- the 18-packs at Wally World were over $5!
Back from breakfast at Cracker Barrel. They’ve got a pumpkin muffin with oats and pecans on top - YUM!!!
**FCD **is swapping out the handle grips on his bike, then he wants my help detailing it. At that point, he’ll decide whether we’re going to the bike show or not. I’m kinda hoping not, but I’m keeping my opinion to myself. If we go, I’m taking yarn and a crochet hook - I’m making squares for another afghan.
Meanwhile, the seeded areas of the lawn are getting a drink.
Moooom, when I bought eggs at Aldi yesterday, they were 2.39 a dozen. They are usually the same price at Kroger but since I prefer biodegradable packaging, I go for the former (unless, of course, one of the vendors at the farmer's market has some yard eggs within 1 of grocery sto’ prices).
I am going to a Cuban cooking lesson this afternoon and taking a new guy with as a second date. It could be interesting.
I took a slab of already smoked ribs outta da freezer earlier this mornin’. I just put 'em in the oven on low heat to warm up. OYKW just shucked and cleaned four ears of fresh corn. Ribs, corn, and N.O.T. sallit shall make for a nummy N.O.L. YUM!
