He’s young, married with a kid, and has hopes for the future ------ in his situation I would have jumped as well. It caught us by surprise because we knew he had applications out but he was basically interviewed and hired on the spot and just basically quit yesterday. He starts the new job Tuesday and he and the family wanted to do the holiday weekend.
PS – MOOOOM - had to do a pallet of boxes for Frostburg (or Frostville - one of the two) Maryland and thought of you. It isn’t even close but at least it was Maryland. I think one of our other Sortation Centers has your region.

Work was busy. The cops are already grabbing people on the highway. I got one of my favorite players to sign my jerseys. Dinner was chicken and broccoli stir fry with noodles, and a Ghost Pepper Five Spice sauce. I’m off Sunday and Monday.

The miniature emperor catered dinner tonight. I called, DH fetched.
Attitude Kid is no longer my problem. I suspect he’s in for a few rude shocks in the new department. It’s nearly all-male (although the one female member of that department is at least as mentally tough as any of the guys), and I suspect that if he throws the 'tude around too much, there’ll be a parking lot “discussion” in his future.
I do feel some sympathy for the one man remaining in my department, since the poor guy’s so badly outnumbered :). He’s a good guy, though.
I’ve been unreasonably tired for several days now. Should be doing homework, may decide that sleep is more urgent, homework not being due until Sunday.

Weird awakening today - I heard Higgs fussing, then I saw a light on. Had I been more awake, I’d have remembered when I got up to pee, there was no light on… :eek: Turns out, the lamp that I’d been futzing with earlier this week finally decided to permit the electrical connection in the switch to be made. I bought this lamp in '83, before I even met FCD - I think it may be time to replace the socket unit. Add that to my Lowe’s list.
**FCD **may be going on a bike ride today. I’m going to try to seed the bare patch in the front yard. I’ll launder a load of whites also, but since I don’t hang those out, I can do that any time. I need to empty the dishwasher, too - we’re out of clean teaspoons - a crisis of epic proportions. Or not.
Sometime today, I’ll call my baby girl and wish her happies - can’t believe she’s 30 already!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90 and possible afternoon rain/tstorms/apocalypse. We shall see. The big plan today is chillin’ by the cee-mint pond with burgers for dindin. I shall also make a run to the church house and get some ice in just a little while. Fun times ahead!

We have breakfasted and I’ve seeded the front yard. The sprinkler is going on part of it, and in an hour, I’ll move it to water the other area. And once I’ve rested, I’ll toss our whites into the washer.

I accidentally defrosted a pork chop instead of chicken last night, so today’s brunch was blackened pork chop with tomato, onion and cilantro omelet, with sough dough toast. Not bad for the “mistakes and markdown menu”. The sky is deciding whether to clear up or storm.
Everything is ready for festivatin’ around the cee-mint pond. I think I shall go have myself a little nappy poo before I begin bein’ festive. I had me a bzzzy mornin’.
The only one that stands out for me was 6th grade, when a teacher none of us have ever seen before enters the room. Of course, we all think it’s strange that we start school with a substitute teacher - “I’m not a substitute; I’ll be your permanent teacher. The teacher you were told would be teaching this class isn’t teaching, for whatever reason.” It only really stands out because we never did find out what happened to the original.

Plus, it’s beginnin’ to cloud up a bit so we may have rain in another hour or so. OYKW will fire up the grill in a little while and grill up burgers. Yes, I am allowin’ him to use the sacred grill.
