Gosh I wish I could have been more explicit in my reading of Lakai. They all assume that by town, I meant VANILLA town. Gah! He came up as a pro-town role that could have still been in play in the game. I promise not to play the next game quite as spectacularly bad.
It’s more my fault than yours. I explicitly told you not to reveal power roles but wasn’t clear on how you should report a pro-town role(mostly because I didn’t think about it).
Ah, a scapegoat! <Monty Burns> Exxxxxxxxxcellent!</MB>
Is anyone up to moderate the next game? I don’t think we should start another until this one is done. I haven’t been in to check on the other one in a while.
I think samclem said we can only have 1 at a time now. I could be wrong.
I think Queuing’s theory is kind of funny. As if last night’s kill was a heavily debated topic, which required full Mafia attention.
How about the only player, apart from Lakai, not to vote for either Lakai or Pygmy Rugger the last Day?
Hey, MonkeyMensch, if you get a minute (more like a lot of them), wanna throw us a post about why you chose to kill who you did and when? I really just wanna know what got me killed, although I guess low post count. But I figured others might wanna know too
It occurs to me that the Mafia might not have switched to Lakai en masse because that would have been too obvious, and the town could still afford to lynch one more townie and still win the game. Still, I think that they should lynch Lakai, if he’s scum lynch Porcupine, if Lakai’s town start over.
Really? He post that in here or somewhere else? I am trying to stay on top of the board’s policy regarding the game. (I would hate for it to get banned.)
Was that before or after fluiddruid gave explicit permission for Mafia part 3(Gadarene’s game).
If we’re OK for another one straight after this, I’d enjoy moderating, but I’d need a hand setting up the mafia board.
It is shockingly easy. I would be happy to help you out if you need it.
But in return you have to hold a spot for me. I want to live longer that a single day this time.
Even though not a whole lot of people posted to my Haggle questions thread, I’m still holding out some hope of starting a game, if there’s some people who crawl in and decide to give it a try.
the good Druid of water suggested that it would probably take up the second slot that would otherwise be used by a mafia game, if I did.
But hey - the good news is, nobody would get kicked out before the end of the game, and it wouldn’t drag on and on without a clear deadline for the end of the whole game!!
I think I figured out how to do the informant role based on someone’s suggestion. When the mafia board is set up, all of the the bad guys sign on as BadGuy1, BadGuy2, etc. When the assignments are given out the moderator would tell all the mafia who was who on the board. The informant can sign on but not post to the board. Then he/she wouldn’t know who exactly was posting, but if smart, could use posting styles to help, and of course if bits and pieces of conversation were to be dropped in the wrong place, the informant could pick up on that too. I think that would be an awesome role.
Whoever moderates the next one, please save me a spot.
Anyone think brewha is still crazy?
I’m pretty convinced by his latest theory.
The only thing that I don’t like about it is that it’s too damn easy. The Mafia have played very well to this point. To make a bone-headed mistake like that to lose the game…
The town needs to remember that the Mafia need them to mislynch twice more. If the Mafia had all piled onto Pygmy Rugger instead of defending him so ardently, they might have had a chance.
He posted in in a Pit thread that was bitching about samclem closing the Family Feud thread, the “Answer Previous Poster with a Song Lyric” thread, and a couple others. One of his reasons was that the Mafia threads are taking up 4 slots (2 games, 2 forbidden) on MPSIMS right now, and there are a limited number of members posting to each.
FWIW, I’d be willing to co-mod a game when these two are over. I don’t think I’ll be playing for awhile (read: “I’m going to play again as soon as possible”), it’s kinda stressful, but I think being a co-mod would be fun.
Deal. I’m an IT professional, but not in anything web-based, so I can probably pick it up double quick but just have never done anything of the like before.
And if Pygmy Rugger wants to co-host, that’s fine by me - someone to cover American time would be handy. Something pirate-themed, I’m thinking…
That post, it seems, is [post=8524221]here,[/post] and the key passage seems to be:
So, no new mafia games here until the ‘kinder and gentler’ one reaches its end.
To make a somewhat bold proposition, maybe a bunch of dopers should head over to a more games-friendly forum to indulge their fix.
Anybody got any suggestions for one?
Ohh, pirates vs. ninjas!!!
And chrisk, thanks for looking up the post. I’ve done enough of that in the last month to last me a year!
I was thinking of pirates vs. ninjas, but I’ve managed to dream up a sort of alternate-world Treasure Island backstory… although it’s still developing, I’m becoming attached to it. Sadly I have to write Jim Hawkins out, but if we think of him as R L Stevenson’s forerunner of Wesley Crusher I’m sure we’ll cope.
