Bacon vs. no bacon

I don’t eat bacon all that often, but I like it a great deal. So when I do eat it, I like to have a lot. In my opinion, having just one strip is actually worse than having no bacon at all.

My absolute minimum is 2 strips, and there had better be extenuating circumstances. My preferred minimum is 4 strips. I like 6 better, and 8 is better yet.

So how many strips do you insist on?

Moving this to Cafe Society.

Although I rarely eat breakfast as such, and then rarely with bacon, I do like BLTs and prefer three strips for both occasions. I’ll go with three. I also like a filet mignon wrapped with bacon, but one strip usually does that okay.

I picked 3 because that’s what a lot of restaurants offer as a serving. If I had my druthers, my minimum would be at least 4, but thick slabs, not that crap that’s cut so thin you can pretty much see through it.

Three, because that’s how many strips it takes to build a PB&B sandwich.

3 or 4. Depends on the bacon.

I hate sandwiches where they use 2 strips to make an X. I’d much rather go with 3 and just get equal coverage throughout.
Anything more seems overkill unless it’s like a sub or something.

One piece of bacon, one egg, one piece of toast, one cup of tea is a filling breakfast for me.

I like bacon, but I can’t eat very much of it at one time.

How can you ask bacon vs no bacon and then give no no bacon option? My minimum is 0. Unless it’s a breakfast sandwich, I don’t want bacon on it or on the side.

This is like asking “cake or death.”

Who could imagine any living human being not wanting bacon?

Although it’s true that multiple people have said that I’m dead inside, I’m alive enough to speak out and say that I don’t like bacon. You can have my share.

For breakfast…well as long as the pan is a cookin’…it’s gonna be 4 slices w/eggs n taters.

I don’t wrap it around anything anymore, unless I have company…cause I’ll eat the whole lot myself…one after another…till’ I burst in flaming bacon grease.

I’m losing weight on Atkins, so 4 strips is the default amount.

Depends. If it’s a breakfast side-dish, no fewer than two (provided there are also at least two links of sausage). On a BLT or any other sandwich, no fewer than four.

We cook a pound at a time - and then force ourselves not to eat the whole thing - we save it to have later in the week for a couple times. Ends up we have 3-4 slices each time we have bacon.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…bacon…

I say 2 has to be the minimum but I’ll gladly have more than that. Reminds me of when my family and I had lunch with my sister’s family a few weeks ago. My sister handed out her bacon to her kids and one of them ate one piece but left the other sitting there when we were all getting up to leave. I had to get that piece. You don’t leave bacon on the table, man.

I’m doing weight watchers at the moment and my standard breakfast was originally 1 rasher of bacon, one egg, half a bagel, but I wasn’t eating enough points during the day so I have gone up to 2 rashers. But I’d be quite hapy with 1 (and that’s what I’ll drop down to as my points allowance continues to drop) so I voted 1.

My minimum is zero, but when I do want bacon, like with eggs for breakfast, I like to have two slices, so that’s what I voted for. I don’t eat all that much bacon, and when I do have it, I more often have it in thick, uncut slabs from the Polish deli, which I then use cubed up in stews or just generally for its flavorful fat (to fry onions in, that sort of thing.)

no bacon, in the end its just not worth the atherosclerosis
