Bad bad bad Beck has found a fresh new hell

Mr. Wrekker bought him a huge ugly orange building with an even uglier green roof.
He’s not home. Of course, the building got delivered Monday.
They messed up my gate getting it thru. They tore up my lawn. Probably killed a peach tree.

Today a rough looking crew came to level and tie down the monstrosity. First things first they don’t take checks or cards only cash. We had to rush to the bank. I was afraid to leave anyone home. These guys were awful looking.
I made everyone go.
I left Bayliss to guard the homestead. He promptly hid in my closet.

Tonight I’m nursing poison ivy. It started on my wrists and is now all the way up to my shoulders. I have a couple places on my back and my ankles are looking pretty angry.
In theory I got this gardening over the weekend.
That’s not what Mr.W is gonna hear. :expressionless:

The left side of my chin has just started itching.

Does anyone know how this is still spreading days after I got exposed?
I got medicine in my IV Monday for it. Didn’t do anything but make me pukey.

Hear that Mr. Wrekker, you gave me the rash from hell.

P.S. I got to go to Sonic tho’.
Silver lining? I think so😁

Are you sure it’s poison ivy? It’s supposed to stop spreading within 48 hours or so of exposure, so if you got it Sunday, this should be it. I think.

As someone who’s had terrible hives that lasted weeks, I’m hoping this clears up for you pronto. If you haven’t already, try applying a cortisone cream and, if your doc says it’s OK, take antihistamines. If those don’t help or if you can’t take antihistamines, call your doc for an appointment. Prednisone can be a lifesaver–again, if you can take it.

Between pain and itch, I’d pick pain any day. Pain is easier to treat. Hope you feel better pronto. Wish I could help.

What got into Mr. Wrekk to get an orange building with a green roof?

How these things always happen to you, Beckers, is one of life’s mysteries.

Those colours have no business being in the same place at the same time unless it’s Halloween. The consolation I can offer is at least you’re all set for Halloween:

Along with pumpkins, orange represents the changing of the seasons that comes with Halloween. It’s a color you see all around as the leaves change during the fall season. For Halloween, the most important thing orange represents is fire.

Green has a history of representing evil monsters. It has been used as the skin color for zombies, aliens, Frankenstein, and witches. The color green has also been used to represent the supernatural …

I’ve always said he is a Very Good Boy. I never said he was a Stupidly Brave Boy.

I don’t know @nelliebly. I think prednisone is what they gave me.

My skin is a itch waiting to rash. Always has been. I’ve never had poison ivy that I knew of.
I’m definitely going to see someone tomorrow.

I’m glad you’re going to get the rash looked at. “My skin is a itch waiting to rash” could describe me as well. So sorry you’re going through this. I’ve never had poison ivy [knocking on wood, including own head], but I think I read that the first exposure doesn’t result in a rash; the second one does.

Whatever it is, hope it’s easily and quickly resolved! Let us know what you find out, would you please? I’ll be thinking of you.

Nope. Just looked it up. First exposure can do it. I sure hope you don’t have any in your garden!

I was just looking too. Wisteria vine can cause rash that is similar to burns. I pulled about 100 vines out of a bush. I like the wisteria flower but it was choking out the bush.
I think this is where it came from.

Oh me.

Itchy. Itchy. ITCHY!!!

Aaaaccckkk!

Hope it doesn’t affect your sleep. I remember a night when I couldn’t sleep I was itching so bad. It was much worse than my normal (occasional) insomnia.

I don’t think I’ll sleep at all.

Aloe vera with lidocaine gel, is your new friend @Beck. Good luck!

And STOP ITCHING AND SCRATCHING!!

I know, I know, easy for me to say…

Here you go >> https://is.gd/KJv3oQ

I have tried everything. So far the best thing has been Noxema.
If I can keep the cats from licking it. Something in it attracts them. Weird.

Okay gotcha. I hope you get some sleep tonight (or this morning). Get some rest.

I’m gonna look for that aloe stuff. It’s recommended allover Dr. Google.

Holy crap, really? We’ve got wisteria all over the freekin’ place! I don’t care that it’s covered the fence - it makes a good privacy screen - but it’s sent runners into the yard and even mowing over it again and again only seems to anger it. But so far, it hasn’t affected me like poison ivy - THAT is some evil stuff.

A few years back, I learned the hard way that the roots of poison ivy can mess you up - I’d always thought it was just the leaves. I do my best to always wear gloves now, and I got a pair of sleeves to protect my forearms.

We hates poison ivy, we does!!!

It should be at your local CVS / Walgreens / Rite Aid. Even Safeway carries it.

Lidocaine is fantastic stuff!

I have pulled wisteria vine many many times.
It is certainly invasive.

It’s never bothered me before.
I was surprised it could be allergenic.
It seems it’s the sap that causes a reaction.

I didn’t know you could buy a completely assembled building and have it delivered. What’s the building for?

Since they insisted on cash, I’m assuming it’s for some sort of criminal enterprise.

The color scheme is so it won’t attract attention.

Really hot showers directed on the rash will stop the itching for a while. Do this before bed, shoudl allow some sleep.

Make sure you dont scald yourself however, we dont need another thread tomorrow “Bad bad bad Beck is burned all over,” :stuck_out_tongue: :scream:
