Bad, bad, bad Comatose mistaken ideas

No. Right now you’re reading my typing.

Yup. Do that. As @carnut says, it can’t hurt, and it smells good. I’d give you some sage if I had a good way to get it there.

Also talk to the haunts: tell them you need the room also, but you hope they’re doing OK. Sometimes all they want is a little respect.

And if you’re only talking to the back of your own head: sometimes that part of you wants a little respect, too.

– you’ll be better able to see the cats if you go see them when you’re less likely to fall down enroute. Right now, lie down!

I’m lying

Wait. Not lie-ing but lying.
Ok. That don’t look right enough

Aaahggg! My brain be stupid

No, it’s not. “To lie”, meaning “to recline or rest on a horizontal surface” and “to lie”, meaning “to deliberately tell an untruth” are spelled the same way, and so are all their tenses.

You are lying down. Good. Stay there.

I can prove you false on this claim. But PayPal will be involved.

You say you are lying, but if everything you say is a lie then you are telling the truth, but you cannot tell the truth because everything you say is a lie. You lie. You tell the truth. But you cannot for. Illogical! Illogical!

Uuugggh! I have a hangover from seizure stopping drugs.
I wanna die. Or at least some hair of the dog that bit me.

This is your brain.

This is your brain on drugs, a lot more fun for us and maybe even you.

:star_struck: Relax and go with the flow, man – um, woman .

I got ketamine,(msp, don’t care)
Now my sore head is swimming.
This just, not right. I’m not a very good addict.

Yuk. Where’s that euthanasia doctor? Is he still alive?
Did he euthanize himself?

Hey. That was kinda  funny.

Kevorkian

He died, but not from euthanasia.

Aside, this word confused me the first time I heard it. Youth in Asia? Well, yes, there are.

I gather they were able to stave off the seizure with ketamine. That’s not a delightful alternative, but it is likely much less destructive. Sorry for your hangover. Ask for tomato soup to help make it go away.

You are right Gato; why do you irritate her?

Only for a little while. She had one this morning.

Dangit. :frowning:

Damn it.

Thanks for telling us, Gato.

Beck has dealt with so much. I hope the doctor can get her seizures under control.

Indeed she has, and always with such grace and good humour. One can hardly imagine anyone more deserving of the best care and a full recovery.

And How! She asked me to post something, personal. Not sure I can do it, but she wants to let all the Dopers know how much this place has meant to her over the last couple years. She says it has kept her alive.
Anything else will have to go in a different thread.

IANAD and I feel awkwardly intrusive here with advice that is probably useless because the family already know all about it, but I have to say it. If Beck is not already at a Level 4 center for epilepsy and seizures, she should be. There are only two in Arkansas, and one is pediatric. The adult center is the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Level 4 Adult Epilepsy Center in Little Rock. The top L4 centers in the nation are probably Johns Hopkins and Mayo. I don’t know if any of these would actually be appropriate, as seizures brought on by (for instance) hypoglycemia are in their own category.

All I’m suggesting here is that maybe Beck should consider asking for a transfer to a Level 4 center. One might expect an institution to do a referral of its own accord but it doesn’t always work that way. I mention this only because my own family experience is that sometimes doing a lot of your own research and getting the right high-level expertise makes all the difference. We all want to see Beck and her menagerie of critters back with us soon.
