bad gas (antacid won't help)

In addition to what Unca Cece said, always let the gas in your small engines (ie: lawn mowers, tillers, chainsaws, outboard motors etc.) let the gas run completely out until the motor dies before storing these items for the winter. The fuel can go bad during storage (in the carb and tank) and in the spring when you crank up the gum gets sucked into the jets and then you’ve got a problem.

Perhaps not, but a link to the column might

Why does gasoline go stale so quickly?

Thanks, I knew I forgot something.
