I mean, it’s an observation about someone specific’s actions that isn’t positive, so I guess that’s a personal attack, or I’m displaying “attitude” or disrespecting him, or something. Maybe it’s an insult to imply that Colibri got a lot oversensitive and aggressive, or to imply that maybe he has a little mod-crush and is trying to impress her.

Very much so. The fact that it tends to be from the same people, many of whom post only to criticize, indicates pretty much what is going on.
Unfortunately, there are legitimate complaints and questions, but as soon as one is posted, the usual horde drops in to pile on with insults. It does not make for a good situation. As I noted, I would hope that both sides would back off, but I do not see that happening any time soon.
Look over this thread. Several posts by staff addressing specific issues have resulted in posters replying, not to the staff member’s actual remarks, but to all the staff with more condemnation. If every member of the staff is going to be lumped in as “staff” and treated with the same contempt for the individual actions of other members of the staff, how long do you figure it will be before “the staff” begins to look at the “complainers” as a hive mind attack group?
I’m not seeing a hive mind at all. I certainly don’t have one. Hell, I more than halfway sympathized with the mods here (but not for their actions here).

Well, to be fair… some mods have a veerrrrrrrry loose interpretation of what a threat is. Trust me on this. “Making things up” from a posters end is one thing. Making things up from a moderator side leads to warnings and suspensions.

In all serious however, the point is that Twickster made a mistake. You knew it, we knew it and by your own admission, you delayed owning up to that because you don’t like the attitude you feel comes from certain posters. That’s really weak and even if you refuse to see it, the rest of us do.
