Is it worth seeing Bad Santa just because it has Lauren Graham in it? What if I really like Lauren Graham?
I liked the movie. It’s out on video so you might as well.
I’d pass if I were you.
I like Billy Bob Thornton, have quite a crush on Lauren Graham, and ***LOVE ***black comedies but laughed maybe twice during the whole film.
Its’ worth seeing because its’ an awesome movie with a great soundtrack (leave me alone, I’m a band dork). Lauren Graham is icing on the cake.
F- me, Santa. F- me, Santa.
My son and I loved it.
Seconded. It’s a very funny movie.
Well as you know we Aussies are a bit backward so it has only just arrived in the cinemas here
OK , I now have to see it. I don’t care if that is 3 seconds from a ninety minute movie, that is gold! Cinematic gold!
Lauren Graham is wasted in it- I can’t remember her getting a single funny line (you’re better off watching her in a NewsRadio rerun). I did like all the swearing in the movie, though, especially since Thornton was apparently actually drunk during a lot of the filming.
I’ve only seen the unrated version, but I thought it was incredibly hilarious.
If you’re going to see it, see the unrated version - Badder Santa.
Best Christmas movie EVER.
It’s fucking hilarious. I laughed my ass off through the whole thing.
I love the hell out of Bad Santa, though I got the unrated Badder Santa that congodwarf mentioned earlier. Lauren Graham’s part wasn’t particularly well written, though, so if she’s the only reason you’re interested in the movie, maybe you should skip it. I love her as an actress and find her stunningly beautiful, but the movie belongs to Billy Bob Thornton and Tony Cox (the foul mouthed dwarf). Bernie Mac has some good scenes too, but Graham is stuck as eye candy playing a bland love interest role. Overall, it’s a really hilarious movie and my wife and I consider it a modern Christmas classic right up there with A Christmas Story and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
Nobody’s gonna mention the heart-warming relationship between Santa and the outcast kid?
We liked the movie. Billy Bob is a hoot. “F*** me Santa” is a pretty good line, don’t you think?
I’m with Aesiron on this one, although he may have laughed one more time than I did. The Santa-Claus-as-an-asshole schtick got old after about ten minutes, and I had trouble accepting the idea that anyone as emotionally undamaged as Lorelai (or whatever her character’s name was) would be attracted to anyone that fucked up, fetishes notwithstanding.
I loved it. I’m just a sucker for Chtristmas films
In my opinion…
Bad Santa is a painful drama about an alcoholic crook who plays Mall Santa as part of his money-making scheme. The movie is very dark, and very funny.
What beckwall and AlbertRose said.
Yeah, beckwall. That was a funny line. So was BadSanta’s “of course it was an accicdent” in response to the kid cutting himself. A line that sums up AlbertRose’s description of the movie.
It’s in my top 10 comedies of all time.
