badger5149, please leave, you add nothing

The thing I like about this site is that I see a lot of topics being addressed that I have often pondered but never really had the opportunity to see them discussed.I do plead guilty as charged to putting my mouth in front of my brain and not effectively expressing a thought.
A question, if a topic is purely subjective is their a protocal for responding to these?

First of all I have not had much exposure to online forums like this so I am likely a bit naive. But I was pondering on how leaders including myself might run things if I were an athiest. I would likley base all me decisions on the good of the planet and the human species long term survival. This would likley involve genocide and at the very least forced steriliaztion. This thought really upsets me because I see this as a very real possibility in the not so distant future. I am probably as kind hearted as anyone could imagine but I would feel the need to make unthinkable choices to save earth. Is this kind of thinking a possible reality???

The best way to help humanity is to kill it and sterilize the rest. Seems legit
The above thread had nothing to do with my actual feelings but was a bit of a snipe toward taking a purely scientific approach to humanity in general. I was bit ticked off at the number of insults being directed at those who believe in a higher or spiritual power and was just palying the part for the hell of it.

Classic. “If you think I’m a jerk, it’s your fault, because you just don’t know enough to appreciate me. But that’s OK. I’ll just quietly pity you.”

best post!

In Band Camp.

– underline mine.

Yeah. Making them legible.

I see it as differentiating himself from those believing in innate differences between groups of humans. He thinks the differences in humans are social. I think your rebuttal was sound, especially as similar sentiments are often used as dog-whistles (“Judeo-Christian heritage, Anglo-Saxon culture” or similar cant), it’s a much more defensible position in my view than “they can’t help it, they were born that way”.

I can sort of sympathise with some of his approach, it can be quite intimidating encountering the stringent requirements and polymath posters here. I’d probably resort to similar tactics in a board dedicated to postmodernism or Gnostic theology.

However:

probably qualifies as trolling and will not lead to an illustrious posting career.

That may have had a trolling element to the post I will admit but not entirely.
As much as I hate being the one roasted here I really do respect the tenacity with which the regular posters defend the character of thier forum here. I have seen many good forums I really enjoyed become diluted and eventualy loose the posters that made the forum what it was to begin with. Myself or anyone new comming in are basicaly crashing a party. Sometimes we fit right in and sometimes we get thrown out. Not everyone in life will love us. I really don’t take it too personnal.

We’re in the fucking Pit, and you didn’t go with “Honey badger don’t give a shit.” Comma or not.

This thread makes his presence worthwhile. I can’t wait to find out what happens, I’ll bet it turns out that badger5149 was a ghost all along!

If that was the case, then I apologize for roasting you, badger.

So you construct a stupid strawman argument, and not an original strawman at that, and you present it as if it were your own opinion?

Please. Stay. I want the thoughtlessly religious to be represented by people like you here.

bah! it’s a Pit thread with “please” in the title

whole different animal

I have no idea what you are fucking talking about

Just in case there are newbies around who don’t understand the references to the honey badger, may I present…

…the Internet. You two have a lot of catching up to do, so we’ll leave you alone.

Come on, if everyone was pitted for that, all the other threads would be empty.

That was awesome, thanks for the link. I never quite knew what a Honey Badger was, now I know. Respect!

Thanks. It’s one of my favorite nature documentaries. I heard a story that Marlin Perkins was scheduled to narrate it, but he died an untimely death before getting into the studio. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry if I missed it here or in the original thread, but I can’t be the only one hearing Tim Curry sing “I’ll get you a Hispanic mechanic…”
