Durty Nellie’s in Bunratty? Loved that place! Best fish and chips we had in Ireland.

  9. Later summer of 1959- I was not quite five years old but that year our family took the first of our vacation road trips out west. We saw national parks, mountains, deserts, and I still recall that in Yellowstone we counted nineteen bears. One young cinnamon coated bear was up in a tree with a leg hanging down. And the huge pinecones from Yosemite.

  10. Athens, 1978. Ostensibly a high school study trip, it was a chance for me to get away from my parents, and realize that there was a helluva lot more to everything than what my parents had planned for me.

  13. Spent three days in New Orleans, one week after Mardi Gras in 2008.

The B&B served coffee and fresh beignets every morning. The atmosphere was very relaxed, with colorful beads hanging from trees and business owners very happy to see/serve us. We walked in to a free concert in the French Quarter, even dropped in on a church service.

Places you went to on vacation and to which you will probably never return

  1. Bahamas - Took a family trip on spring break while I was in high school; it was fine, but there are many other places in the world I’d now like to see
