Bakers Dozen

Did somebody appoint you thread moderator? Or was there an election I missed?

You missed a few things, that’s for sure.

I will excuse, on the basis of presumed hastiness and inattention, the earlier #2 addition to the list,
which was made in plain sight of the words “In honor of”.

Calm down, folks. It’s in honor of the date, not of particular individuals. I doubt anyone here wants to “honor” Osama bin Laden.

If it bothers colonial, I’ll withdraw the name.

But in the future, if there’s an objection, I’d expected to asked about it before anyone decides to act on their own.

How merciful of you. On behalf of Little Nemo, and of my daughter Tzeitel and her new husband, I accept your excusing.

  10. Ben “The Dell Dude” Curtis

Though his contribution wasn’t as reported or as time consuming/dangerous as Buscemi’s, he was a rare combo of actor-hero that day. He used his Boy Scout training and his shirt as bandaging to administer first aid to several people injured by the debris clouds. (A couple of years later he lost his contract with Dell when he bought pot while wearing a kilt; I’m still not clear over whether it was the kilt or the pot that got him fired.)

I was going to post DVR’s. But I checked and it turns out that TiVo was introduced in January 1999.

Who was also gay! Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
