Next: Baseball pitchers with only one win in their careers.
SFC Schwartz

I’m at MLB.com and after tweaking their database have clicked through 16 pages of pitchers with “0” wins in their career… and I’m only up to the G’s!

:sigh:

Baseball pitchers with only one win in their careers.

  1. Jay Aldrich, Atlanta Braves

(Go to mlb.com. Click on stats. Click on Pitching. Click on “All time Totals” Select “All Teams”. Click on the “W” column (it won’t change, but do this anyway.) Then perform the following modifications to the URL (will highlight changes in bold):

FROM: 2023 MLB Player Hitting Stat Leaders | MLB.com

TO: 2023 MLB Player Hitting Stat Leaders | MLB.com

And, shit. That didn’t work - it’s only showing me pitchers with 0 wins. I got Jay’s name from selecting “Atlanta Braves” as the team, but that doesn’t mean that Jay didn’t get wins with another team.

Sorry, SSG Schwartz, but can you tell us how to get this info (or suggest another category?)

(Edit - the post lopped off the first URL, but kept the 2nd. Sorry about that - I don’t know how to fix it.)

  2. Jay Tessmer, New York Yankees

PS

Types of Baker’s Dozen categories you hate

  1. Things overheard at… (papal selection, Republican convention, etc.)
  2. Simpsons characters who appeared in only one episode
  3. Piece of cake a dime-a-dozen categories that even a drooling recluse from civilization could contribute to.
  4. Anything to do with sports, particularly baseball, and especially particularly requiring the knowledge of obscure statistics or facts.
  5. pretty much anything current literature related
  6. Naming TV/book characters of shows/books I’ve never read
  7. “Your personal favorite” categories that people can only honestly answer once and inevitably bog down
  8. Anything dealing with politics.
  9. Any category that requires me to list things I hate
  10. Categories where you just look it up on Wikipedia and answer the first thirteen items they list
  11. Any category that requires me to list things I hate TWICE
  12. Any category that takes us more than 48 hours to come up with 13 answers for
  13. Categories that I have to make up, just because I provided the 13th answer to the previous list
    14. Baseball Pitchers with only one win in their career.

mlb.com, pitching stats, filter by team, find a pitcher then check his career stats.

Yeah, I thought I was over-engineering the process.

Did you all not notice this?

Where’s that from, anyrose?
ETA: never mind, I found it.

Google is of no help to me for this category - lots of pages that don’t give me what I need.

Pass.
