Ballot Name In Lights

When voting, there is a space where you can write in another name instead of choosing for the contenders on the ballot. Suppose I decided to write in my own name (as I’m sure other people do) When giving out the % for each name, will my name appear with 1 vote or will only the main contenders appear with their percentage%.

BTW if my name won’t appear on the television, why not?

It won’t appear because you didn’t get enough votes to be sinificant. Say Bilbo Baggins gets 1000 votes, and I get 2000. You got 1 (or maybe 5, if you could talk some friends into voting for you). With 5 votes, you have .17% of the votes. Not statistically significant. So unless you’re quite unique (see below) you’ll never be heard of.
In an election for mayor somewhere in Colorado, Mr. Potatohead recieved 4 write-in votes.
