Bally Health Clubs

Anyone have any dealings with these guys? Good or Bad? Has anyone bought a memebership off someone else? I want to join a health club but Bally’s cost seems high. They even sell memberships on eBay but I don’t know about buying something so much off of eBay.

I visited one about 10 years ago, when they were still President and First Lady. I felt they were scum. I went to them because I heard of a great offer on TV. They informed me that it was only a three day a week program and you had to declare which days you were to come. They gave me a very quick tour and then hard sold me on a special offer that was going to end that day. The deal included a 3 year contract. I got out of there and went to the YMCA. Not just any, some are not that great for a single person who wants state of the art equipment (child care is most Y’s big money maker). If you live in a big city check out a downtown YMCA, or a larger one. Me I am a member of the Post Oak YMCA, the largest in Texas. It has everything Bally’s has. No long-term contracts. A big swimming pool, tennis courts.

Although if you are in it for the long run Bally’s has great deals for people who stick around longer than 3 years.
