Discovery Health Channel Fitness Challenge

I can’t remember where I saw it posted, but in the past few days I read that the Discovery Health Channel is running a National Body Challenge. Details are available here.

Basically, the idea is to weigh-in at one of their stores on January 10th, and weigh-in again three months later. They will measure your progress and perhaps put you on the air for the show about it. There is a guest membership to Bally’s in the offering, too.

I posted this in the SDMB Weight Loss Club thread, as well.

I’ll be weighing in. Who’s with me?

I would do it, but there are no weigh-in sites closer than Philadelphia. I would like to lose some weight this year, though.

I doubt I could impress anyone by losing the 15 lbs I need to lose (well, except myself and my husband.) I would imagine they’ll be looking for people who can produce a more dramatic weight loss, yes?

I don’t know what they’re looking for. At any rate, I have 30 to lose, and if this helps speed it along, I’m all for it. Plus, the membership to Bally’s won’t hurt any.

Why would I want a guest membership at a casino? I don’t gamble.

Bally’s health and fitness clubs. Goof.

Blatant bump for the back-to-work crowd. Join in!

Well, the closest Bally’s to me is 3 hours away - nope, don’t think so.

I’d do it, but I don’t think there’s a Discovery store near me, and I already have a 3 year locked memebership to Bally’s. Basically, the only way I get out is death…

My wife and I are both planning on doing it. But we’ve been pretty discouraged with their crappy website.

Huh. I didn’t know Bally’s did anything besides casinos and pinball machines. (“I thought I was the Bally table king…”)

Anyhow, the only one within shouting distance of anywhere I’d regularly be is in an iffy neighborhood off East Capitol inside the Beltway. So I reckon not.

snort Like you really need to do this. :stuck_out_tongue:

One thing about people who diet, MsR: Doesn’t matter if anyone else thinks they need to - it’s if they think they need to. My boss told me that I should not lose any more weight, because I’d be too thin. He’s incorrect in that assessment - I was a size 18 when he said it. I personally want to drop another 30 lbs from where I am now, and if I feel like dieting beyond that, I will. It’s my decision, not anyone else’s.

Ginger: I know that. It’s just that Rufus is the last person I’d associate with the word “diet.”

I know. It’s scary.
