Bamboo sheets

Being currently deployed, I have something like a 6x8’ space that I can call my own. Therefore, I’ve dedicated myself to the task of making that space as comfortable as possible, focusing on the piece of furniture that takes up most of the space, my bed. I have an electric mattress pad (very nice, btw), and after seeing them in this blog, a set of bamboo sheets.

I love these things. They’re really soft and silky, but not slippery. They’re incredibly comforting to slip into. They’re almost like a veryveryvery soft, light flannel, but don’t make you over-hot. Anyone else have them?

I have a set that I bought from Bed Bath & Beyond I think it was. They are comfortable as you say, but they have little “body” to them. Maybe those two attributes are mutually exclusive, but I find the lack of body kind of annoying. Mine are supposedly 100% bamboo, but maybe a blend with another fiber would be better for me.

I have a set, and I love them! Soft and silky, but not slippery. Mmm…

It’s true, they’re very drap-ey, not crisp as cotton would be. I like it, but I can see how some people wouldn’t.

I don’t have bamboo sheets, but I do have a bamboo shirt, which I’ve found is softer and somehow sleeker than cotton. I didn’t even know they could make cloth out of bamboo before this. I’ll have to see if the company which made the shirt has any bamboo sheets. They sound really comfortable.

I was wondering if there was clothing made of bamboo cloth…what company made your shirt?

It’s a Finnish company called Nanso. This one is 96% bamboo, 4% elastane. Apparently their Lempivaate line has several bamboo cloth items in their collection. Mine is this pattern, but a shirt.

I was going to buy them, but the store was out of queen size sets. And then I bought a different set, so now I can’t buy any more sheets. Next time, I guess.

Hmm…I don’t like the tee-shirt material sheets because they’re clingy and don’t have body. This makes me think I wouldn’t like bamboo.

Speaking of Bamboo clothing, I have worn several pair of ‘Gold Toe’ bamboo dress socks for, I guess, a year now.
Comfortable feeling, but nothing drastically different than normal ‘cloth’ socks (as opposed to, say, nylon socks).
Not too sure of the wear quality, as I had two sets wear out already, but since I also brought some cloth socks at the same time, I forgot which was which :smack:
Oh well, I brought some more bamboo socks to replace the worn socks, so I’ll have the wear quality comparison… in about a year or so
