Band name origin? - "And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead"

I know bands often have unusual names but this one is more so than most. I’m assuming “And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead” is a quote from somewhere. Can anyone help?

If I am not mistaken, it comes from a phrase found in the Egyptian book of the dead. A similar phrase has also been found on some temple/pyramid in South America. I’m kind of fuzzy on the details. The guys in the band thought it was cool that it had turned up in 2 very different cultures on different sides of the world, so they used it. Like I said, I’m fuzzy.

And I’m also pretty sure that it’s “…And You Will Know us by the Trail of Dead.”
