Band names that are JUST a surname (of someone in the band)

Ah yes: Greg Allman and Joyce Brothers.

Amaral (Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre).

Would a duo count as a band in this instance? I’m thinking Difford and Tilbrook, the song-writing partners in Squeeze, who toured under that name after the band carked.

This would open the flood-gates for Loggins and Messina, Congo Norvill [Kid Congo Powers from the Cramps + somebody Norvill], and and … yep, floodgates.

Woah, some great names here!

I’m thinking that duos would count if only the last names are used (Seals and Crofts)…

Not sure.if Bon Jovi counts since it’s a twist on his real name. Also thinking that for example “The Carpenters” or “Allman Brothers” would not count, but a name like “Carpenter” or “Allman” would. Thanks for the suggestions.

The keyboard player and the drummer of Deep Purple (Jon Lord and Ian Paice) together with singer Tony Ashton produced one album as Paice, Aston, Lord.

However Tony Ashton’s big claim to fame is the hit ‘Resurrection Shuffle’ from his band Ashton, Gardner and Dyke.
