Band names that aren't taken.

Is there a good, reliable source where one can find out if a name for a band is already taken? My son is going nuts over this. Every time he thinks of a good name, a while later he finds out it’s been taken.

You might try this page:

It’s probably not exactly what you’re looking for, but it may be of some use.

Try this site.

Try http://www.bandname.com for starters. There is another (and better) one i used to use but i’m gonna have to dig for it…

Try http://www.bandname.com and http://www.bandreg.com for starters. There is another (and better) one i used to use but i’m gonna have to dig for it…

Ever since “Hootie and the Blowfish” was taken, I think your son is out of luck. There is nothing left but unpronounceable symbols.

Thanks for the sites folks. We’ll be spending alot of time on them. Thanks!

I just checked on Google, and you wouldn’t believe how many bands there already are called son of pkbites.

you could check out http://www.ubl.com
but, as far as band names go, the English language is pretty much played out

[spinal tap]

David: So we became The Originals.

Nigel: Right

David: And we had to change our name actually…

Nigel: There was another group in the east end called The Originals and

    we had to rename ourselves.

David: The New Originals.

Nigel: The New Originals and then, uh, they became…

David: The Regulars, they changed their name back to The Regulars and

we thought well we could go back to The Originals but

    what's the point?
