Below the belt! Below the belt!
Hey, that’s fighting dirty.
Bucky, Buckner & Boone back at you.
I think Matt Clement would work as well. Pedro was the steal of that offseason. He is only hurt half the time
To his credit, Clement only took one ball on his chin, unlike most of the other Sawx.
Booooooo!
(this thread is getting to be a dirt fight. I love it!)
I was afraid that might have been a little over the top…
<throws second base into shallow center field>
Hey, silenus – any idea what these guys are on about? Sounds like some sort of silly rivalry. Glad we don’t have to deal with any of that.
::keeps an eye out for TroyMcClureSF::
I couldn’t find one either (not free anyway, there was a s/w DL for $30 one), so I bought a magazine. The mags do a decent job, but come out way too early. Seems not too many leagues do an old fashioned auction anymore.
No clue at all. No idea.
By the way, did you read the new Sports Illustrated, where they note that the Giants are so bad they’ve been relegated to T-Ball next year?
I keep trying to tell you left coasties that the Yankee/RedSux rivalry is much bigger than the Dodgers and Giants.
A rivalry has no significance at all to anyone outside it. So, to be honest, no rivalry can be said to be bigger than another.
Not true, the Yankee/Red Sox rivalry has caused massive annoyance for fans of the other 28 teams because of the way Fox and ESPN over covered it for so long.
I think that is why they are now* the two most hated teams in baseball, along with their giants salaries. The Mets seem to finish a distant third despite having a payroll not far behind the Sox.
- Well in fairness, hating the Yankees is a tradition that is really older than many sports.
Well, hell’s bells, one of my predictions has already come true, and the freaking season hasn’t even started yet. Jim Edmonds of the Padres is already injured. Apparently, he caught a spike in the batter’s box, and he said his knee felt like someone had hit him from behind with a bat…
Terrific.
The Cards finished spring training on a tear, winning 7 in a row and 12 of their last 14. I know, I know, it’s just spring training. Still, I’m getting excited. They should at least finish the season somewhere north of .500. I hope.
Including baseball.
THere’s no question you folks back East have been at it way longer.
We just do it better.
Actually, historically, yours is the transported remnant of what was once the greatest rivalry in sports. Before the exodus, Giants/Dodgers was way more intense then Yankees/Red Sox or Cubs/Cards
Darn!! Anybody care to chime in on this list of players that are available in our league. Those that you think might be worth more/less than the conventional wisdom???

Might help to see your current roster. how many teams in this league?
Hamilton is having an awesome spring.
Gomez looks like he has won the center field/lead off competition. He is very raw, but can fly.
Greinke should not be a free agent, nor Mcgowen. Grab them both if you have room.
Garland! is not as good as Garland
