Baseball's back with a capital B and stands for...

Boring?

Beloved?

Bewildered?

I, who lives in a State with no professional team, love the sound of baseball. The crack of the bat and familiar announcers.

To me its a sign of spring.

WHose your team?

The “B” stands for “big salaries and big egos.”

My teams are the San Diego Padres (huge Tony Gwynn fan – yes, I know he retired) and the Montreal Expos (perennial overacheivers stuck in a fickle sports town and a shitty facility – it is a national tragedy that they’ll be gone next year, IMO). Too bad both are gonna suck this year.

At least I can console myself with the knowledge that the Babe Ruth League team I coach here in Calgary is going to kick the crap out of everyone in sight.

BEER!

When the Canadian team won the World series it was the first time the world was invloved in a round about way.

Beer with capital B!

Detroit…even though I live less than 20 miles from the Angels.

Really though, I like any game and will watch. It’s comforting in this fucked up world.

That some guys get to play as a job is still the dream of many.

Welcome back Baseball…now get rid of your pres and we will be just fine

California Angels tap me on the back. Old jump rope song.

Anybody wanna play catch?

Boring. At least football, basketball and hockey players (who as a rule earn less than their (overpaid) counterparts in MLB) at least break a sweat.

Boston! The Sox are the only way to go. And, while Football may be a better sport for the casual fan, there’s nothign more fascinating than debating OBP vs. Lefthanders as proof that player x was better than player y. Baseball is just so deep, that it’s comforting, and an escape from every day life. Spring is officially here, now that I’ve watched my first game of the year.

Blue Jays! Season’s tickets this year. And the team’s getting much better.

Ah, baseball. The cycle continues. Life begins anew.

Rex, basketball players are better paid than baseball players.

B stands for Brett!

Yes, my team is the Royals, how did you guess?

Lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan reporting in, and I couldn’t be happier that Opening Day is here. For me, nothing signals the beginning of spring like the first time they take the field.

I think my Cards are going all the way this year, even with the questions we have about starting pitching right now. If Walt Jocketty and the front office come through like always, we’ll be sitting pretty come October.

Plus, I’ve been enjoying University of Kentucky college baseball for a couple of weeks now. Take my advice: go to a college game some afternoon. It’s fun. Tickets and concessions are cheap, it’s a good friendly atmosphere, and games seem to fly by.

I hear you!

nothing like a live baseball game!

He who breaks a record like I break a sweat.
He who sends the toughest pitchers crying home to his bullpen coach.
He who is intentionally walked with the bases loaded.
He who has hit 21 baseballs into San Francisco Bay from a patch of dirt that’s closer to King Street.
He who still manages to piss everyone off despite the rest of this list.

It’s time for the Mr. Bonds Show.

And now, your San Francisco Giants.

April 11, LA at SF.
April 19, SF at LA.
And this year, I’m legal to drink.
See ya in October.

Giants fans are EVIL. EEEE_VIL!!!. Much like their team.
Go Dodgers! Go Angels! SoCal all the way!!!

Every Dodger fan know that B stands for Brooklyn.

B stands for Bastards at Cablevision denying me my Yankees games for the second year in a row.

B is for 'bout time. I’m an Indians & I can’t wait for this season to play out. We got tons of young talent & I’m curious to see how they all do.

B is for Billyball. Rest in peace, Billy.

B is for brrrrrrrr. Snow on the ground in Michigan, the Tigers open today.

B is for brushback. Come on pitchers, take that plate back. Knock them down.

B is for braindead. For first shift workers and schoolboys, baseball extends to you the middle finger by starting postseason games at 8:30 and making the commercial breaks so long the games can’t end before midnight.

Everyone here is allowed to be happy and excited at the beginning of the season, but it is a foregone conclusion that the Cubs will win the World Series.

B is for ballpark tour!

I’ve been to Dodger Stadium, the Big Ed, the Vet, Wrigley, Fenway, and Camden Yards. On my list this year are PNC Park, Yankee Stadium and Shea. Maybe the Jake and the GAB if I can manage.

Of course, I will attend many Camden Yards games due to my proximity and many Os fans. And I will be back in Chicago ready to hit the bleachers with my amigos again. Good times.
