Basketball, and I don't care

So I lived a while in Sacramento, which struggled for years to get professional sports teams and finally landed the Kings… and basketball is somewhere far below football in my sports interests. (They did have a first-rate AAA baseball team with a beautiful stadium, at least.)

Now I live so close to UConn that I not-infrequently share the local grocery store with players on both the men’s and women’s teams (now both in the Championship Finals and likely to both end up winners).

And I wouldn’t have a thing to say to any of them beyond, “Hi.”

What a waste, eh?

Actually, the song starts with “Jimmy-crack-corn…”

So, if you shared the market with a pro football player, what else beyond “hi” would you say to them?

Not much more. MLB, though…

“Good luck!” Is always appropriate. On the other hand, they may prefer to be ignored.
