Got all up to date on this Damian Wayne guy. Watched some DC animated clips. I like the dynamic between him and Dick Grayson. Pretty cool, all in all if not very complicated with carious DC reboots mucking with him and his whole relationship to Ras Al Ghul and all the resurrections that come with that CF.
Yes, And No. But yes. And then he’s dead. But then he’s never been dead, i don’t know what you’re talking about. And then he’s friends with Superman’s kid. But not the previous Superman, but the Previous previous Superman. Sort of. But not really.
<pushes glasses up, and speaks in nerd voice> Well… uh… technically, you see… Damian’s first appearance was at the end of “Batman: Son of the Demon” in 1987. The book was never considered canon, but DC brought Damian Wayne back in 2006.
Damian’s grandfather is Ras al-Ghul: you know, the guy who owns and uses the Lazarus Pit to resurrect himself regularly. Returning Damian to the living is less dubious than most.
DC’s such a mess ever since post-crisis gave way to post-post-crisis. Least they’re giving superman back his red undies, his costume looks stupid with just blue tights.
I was ignoring other timelines. Of course there were Batman, Junior, I think he was called, back in the 1960’s, and some versions of the Huntress.
I was referring to the tendency in some comics to have Bruce end up adopting the various Robins. I think he may have ended up adopting Dick, Tim, and Cass before the reboot, and I’m pretty sure he adopted Jason in the 1980’s. Granted, I’m not sure how much applies in the most current stuff; Cass and Tim were hit with the stupid DC retcon treatment, but may be getting back to something like their old selves finally.
